Damn Steve,

Each time I see this thread it just gets better and better. Do you have a date when you are hoping to get the car on the road?

Bob Jordan
I'm not around as much as I used to be, but I still like keeping up with this thread whether I'm logged in or lurking. Looks like things are coming along quite well, Steve. Serious kudos to you for keeping everything period correct, right down to the 59 gas cap. Wow. I bet that's gonna look like a real beaut when polished up.

kitty - still lovin' every minute of it

Steve,

Did you mount the tires yet?

Bob Jordan

Are you reusing the original torsion bars? If so, did you mark them prior to everything? The reason I ask is because if you reverse them, they're stiffer but can also break.

Then again, it's not as if you're going to be driving offroad or on rough roads a lot, so I guess it doesn't matter. I just remember knowing people who swapped theirs around to stiffen the rear suspension (same goes for the front suspension leaves) or to raise a sagging suspension and had them break. I can only imagine how that sounds!

Wow, Steve! You are completely on top of everything with this build. Most people don't even think to mark axle rods, much less repaint them. Spiffy looking indeed, and those tires look magnifique!

I have not seen brake parts that clean before. Ever. At least not all at once like that.

mmmm....new tire smell =)
