Hi Maribell,<br>I learned you cannot put the 3 % paypal fee in your auction listing becasue they will cancel your auction, but you can put it in the invoices, trust me onthat, there is no way they can stop that.<br>Eric

<p>Also Jeff, the total basic fees not including anything extra like featured, bold, etc. Just the listing fees with reserve and buy it now, paypal, and finalvalue fees added up to $ 67.00 bucks, so don't tell me they did not charge me that much. Paypal was $ 25.38 like you said plus $ 27.56 final value fee,plus roughly 15.00 bucks for the listing fees including reserve</p><p>25.38- Paypal fee like you said<br>27.56- Final value fee<br>15.00- listing fee with reserve fee<br><br>Equals 67.94 exactly, that is over 9% ? <p>Jeff,<br>I was saying I paid 9-14 percent in fees before, you just seen the 9 percent, and the 14 was on a 200 car with the featured plus. And who in there right mindwould feel good about paying 9 percent to sell on ebay?????? And I was right what I told Maribell for the record, your not supposed too, but what the hell,they can charge you up the azzz, the buyer should have to cover the fees regardless if they want to use paypal. I know how to do the formula Jeff, I do notneed you showing me how. <font color="#330000">You can't tell an ebay customer to add 3% in fees . NOt in the invoice. They can submit it to ebay. Just do what I do...<br><br>4.80 priority mail... Make it 5.80 or 6.00 priority mail<br><br>everything else , add 1 dollar.<br><br><br>If you want to charge a few dollars on a heavy item or an expensive item, then add that amount to the total.<br><br>You need to include it in the price. If you still insist on charging exact shipping, then add 1 - 2 dollars to the starting price of the item. So insteadof 9.99 ,make it 10.99 as the starting price.<br><br>One way or another , you need to recover the paypal fees. That is something that buyers need to understand, especially the ones on this board that have no ideaon how to sell an item. Sorry, I don't mind the ebay fees because I truly am greatful of Ebay for allowig me to stay home and raise the boys whilehubby works but I think that paypal fees total suck...<br>I actually wish that they would charge the fee to the buyer and NOT the seller.. <br><br>I plan on selling a nice Olds 442 soon and believe me, I won't be taking paypal.. nearly 13 dollar in paypal fees. No way Jose. Whoever buys it, willhave to write out a check or a money order and actually peel a stamp. Ebay has increased their fees quite a bit since I have been selling there (since '99). And although I complain about it as much as anybody, I'll stillcontinue to sell there. Why? I also sell at many auction houses in my general area. These auction houses will charge a dealer/seller anywhere from 15% to 30%for their services. Therefore, if you're willing to go through the trouble of packing and shiping an item, comparatively, Ebay is still more profitable forme, the seller (not to mention the increased market exposure). Like Maribell suggested, I too have started adding a small "handling fee" into myshipping charges when selling on Ebay. This has helped me to compensate for some of the increased Ebay costs.<br><br>My biggest complaint about Ebay's new rules is the Paypal-only thing. I think I should also be able to accept payment via check or money order at mychoosing. They are both valid forms of legally transferring funds from one party to another. As long as Ebay gets their fees, they should have no say in how abuyer goes about paying the seller. Thinking optimistically, I believe this new policy will be short-lived. Personally, I think that they will be some kind ofa legal action made which will eventually cause Ebay to rescind this new payment rule (at least I hope so).
