Steve,<br><br>Can I ask a dumb layman question? Why not paint the body and fenders and all other parts at the same time? I don't mean all mounted on the car, I mean paint them in the booth at the same time to get the benefit of the same paint mixture and weather conditions?<br><br>I am sure there is a logical explanation why you are painting the body piece by piece, but consider this an uninformed, but sincerely curious question <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :\ --><img src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif" alt=":\"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--><br><br>By the way, everything looks fantastic!<br><br>Bob Jordan

<p>Here are some pics of what I had to replace on my Bug. I was trying to wait till the Bug was done, but the boss wanted us to clean up our storage area nextto the shop. So all this had to go. I laid it all out relating to where it was on the car. This only about 90% of the metal I replaced. Man did this bring backmemories.</p><p><img height="600" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02929.jpg" width="800" alt="image"><br><img height="600" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02930.jpg" width="800" alt="image"><br><img height="600" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02931.jpg" width="800" alt="image"><br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02932.jpg" alt="image"><br><img height="600" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02934.jpg" width="800" alt="image"><br><img height="600" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02935.jpg" width="800" alt="image"><br><img height="600" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02936.jpg" width="800" alt="image"><br><img height="600" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02937.jpg" width="800" alt="image"><br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02938.jpg" alt="image"><br><img height="600" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%202/DSC02939.jpg" width="800" alt="image"><br><br>That is alot of sheetmetal !!<br><br><br>Enjoy, Steve<br><br>Bobbyj.... Well, I took the day off to attend a funeral. I spent the best part of the day with my old friend Mark. His mother passed away last saturday. It sure was greatto see him and his family. Anyway, Jon and I went in to my work after 4pm and got right to work. We started to sand and block out the drivers door. While Jonwas busy with that, I was busy sanding and buffing the passenger door. I don't think I need to say any more:<br><br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%203/DSC02965.jpg" alt="image"><br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%203/DSC02966.jpg" alt="image"><br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%203/DSC02967.jpg" alt="image"><br><br>And the results after the buffing and polishing:<br><br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%203/DSC02970.jpg" alt="image"><br><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/CUSHE63/59%20Beetle%203/DSC02971.jpg" alt="image"><br><br>Just like a mirror !! Then we sanded the inside of the hood with 400 grit paperand a scratchpad. We had to be careful not to finger sand in the same direction.
