A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Vintage and antique items. Either I still have them and are recent, or I have sold them. This is what I do to keep going. Here is a sample of about 3-5 years of stuff. NOTE: some dates on the pics are incorrect, please ignore them.
I bought this a few weeks ago for $9.50. I can probably sell it for 50-100 after I get a test drive with it. I already have a buyer interested for 100.

For those who missed it, this came in just this past weekend. It is a 1950-1953 GE clock radio. Sadly, all five tubes I believe are dead. The radio may still have value, because it is a BAKELITE radio. For those who don't know, these radios tend to have cracked or broken cabinets...this one is just fine! you can replace tubes.

This is probably the nicest example so far of these bikes. It is a German built Sears Ted Williams badged Free Spirit. It is equipped with an AUTOMATIC (yes, AUTOMATIC) 2-speed kickback rear hub. The bike folds up as well which was a fad in the 60s and 70s. Since I discovered this and posted it on a couple of collector's forums, it has stirred up discussion. Many of the one's I've seen have been in pretty rough shape compared to this.

I also have been working with an antique dealer. Here is some stuff he had me sell (I got a cut of it. I just wish this stuff sold as fast as the promo car he had)

Yes, the car is autographed.

This bicycle is a 1934-1935 Rollfast built by DP Harris. It is a mish-mash of parts and was somebody's Hot Rod bike in the 70s. I have parted it out, and showing current pics of it could make some of you guys cry. I have well made my money though.

A score from a few months back and I'm not sure if I want to sell it. I found this 1941 Crosley 52TA for $10 at a garage sale. It works like a charm after I cleaned it out and did some very minor work. I had fun doing it.

1920's slaw cutter. A person I know needed some stuff for her booth at a flea market, so I let here put it there to sell, hey, it's free and fills up that space!

Old Matchbox Super Kings. bought it for 25 or 50 cents around 2007/2008. Took me forever to sell it, I just sold it this past Feb. Never again will I deal with Super Kings. I had $10 on it, sold for $5.00 Oh well, can't win them all.

Last year, I made a big score of Classic Car parts, so don't go away!

Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
An estate sale in 2009 on the last day of school lead me to score after score for WEEKS! On the first day, we negotiated, and finsihed up in the morning. It was over a small lot of old car parts for the man's restored '64 Ford Thunderbird. I came back in the morning and the guy had MORE out. I asked how much for all of it? $20! HOLY CRAP! I tried to go berzerk, my dad was frustrated with me for buying it, but he also said he knows I can sell it very fast, so he was cool with it. Here are the car parts from that score:
Trim for the tail light lenses:

Outer trim for the tail lights:

Drain Hose:

Some of the parts were incorrect for the car. Like this gem. For those who do not know, this is off of a 1957 T-Bird. I kept this sucker!

The console BEFORE I cleaned it up! I'm having trouble finding the pic of it after I cleaned it up.

The day before or so, I found the knobs for the radio in a little baggie for .25 cents!

A week later, I buy the radio for a $1.00

That is just the T-Bird parts, heck, I know I missed some, I just have to find the old pics! I had lenses, badges, and some other do-dads not pictured.
Later that month, or so, I went with my friends to a church rummage sale. I found a set of hub caps. They said "Nothing special, look like Econoline hub caps" I said no they are not, they doubted me, and I bought them for $4. I sold themf or $70.00 They went to a 1962-1963 Ford Sunliner!

I have other parts as well, but I'll keep those pics to the vault for now. Most of these parts went to putting more Classic Cars back on the road! I got some cash doing it too!
A month earlier that year, I found some GM parts, a box full for $5.00 many of which have been sold as well.

Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
This is my favorite rider! A 1963 Huffy decal badge bike. First year for that and pretty rare. I got it at a garage sale about 2005/2006. It was covered in oil and I got it for $2.00 and it originally wasn't for sale, but I asked. I was going to use to part out and fix my '63 Columbia. GLAD I DID NOT. I spent a summer cleaning and fixing it up, cleaned every last spoke nipple. Rides great and is really an attention getter! NO I'M NOT SELLING HIM!

Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
I'm back and I've found some more pics. But first, the pics are gone, but the stories remain. Here are few of the items I sold a long time ago (no pics)
I started scrapping things in 2007. One night, I get an old vacuum cleaner. It is a Hoover Converitble, with a set of unused bags from the 60s or 70s. It was a cream color and a wild looking 60's green. It even had a setting for shag carpet! I decided to spare it's life and sell it on the bay. I got to cleaning it and tested it out, it worked fine and looked great! I had a swarm of vacuum cleaner collectors bidding for it. It sold on Jan. 25, 2008 for $31.00. Not bad, considering I just found it on the curb one night. :D
Now that I know that there is a market for old vacuums, I did a little poking around and now, I keep an eye on them and if I find them for cheap, I bring 'em in. These two recently came in in. The Royal about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I'm waiting to hear back on somebody (says they can decifer the numbers, although I believe it is a 1968-1971). The Hoover has only been here for a couple of weeks and is a 1967/1969. The Royal was found for $6.00, the Hoover for the same price.
The Hoover:

Take it from someone who does this for a living, it needs a cap job before plugging it in. If it hasn't been serviced in years, then you are asking to damage it. At a minimum remove all tubes from the cab except the rectifier and bring up the voltage slowly using a VARIAC constantly monitoring voltages on your main filter caps. NEVER plug in a vintage radio without pulling the chassis and inspecting it, unless you know that it works or has been serviced first.
That being said, cool stuff!

Yea, I had to do deep cleaning on that Crosley when I got it. I was also told that it works, but the crap inside made me doubtful. There is a guy that does this work for a living and that GE is beyond my skills. Two of my friends collect old radios and they have the info on the guy.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Being still relatively young (19) lol I find alot of this stuff interesting and alot of people think its odd. But I've always prefered the older made stuff cause it's quality! Anyway here's my collection that I've shown off once or twice here and since we are already showing off the bikes :p. But they really are the only collectibles I truely pride myself in owning, besides the redlines of course lol....

Andy,
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Sweet! Did you restore all of those yourself? I know that come parts for Muscle Bikes right now are through the roof! I have a European one sitting out in my..junkyard. I may restore it, part it out, or junk it. I might just let it sit and rot. I'm in a bind, and if you saw pics, trust me, you would see why.
Re: A FEW PICS OF MY ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES! Enjoy!
Believe it or not all those are completely original except the seat on the Orange Krate. Once I find one I completely disassemble it and clean the crap out of everything, nuts, bolts, spokes, you name it. Then once I'm satisfied I put it all back together and enjoy. The 1971 Apple Krate in the middle was found at a yard sale probably 15 minutes from my house. 200 bucks later and it was sitting in my garage. Same with the Pea Picker. Bought it for $300 and it's a disc brake Pea Picker. I had people offering $300 just for the rear rim and brake assembly but I am not one on parting these things out cause it's only orginal once you know. I go to garage sales all the time in hopes to find something worth flipping. Sometimes you hit gold other times your lucky to equal out the gas you've used in all the traveling. But whenever you do hit that gold it's what makes it all worth it
