What were your greatest finds in 2011
2011 has Been one of the greatest years ive had!! For one i picked up 2 redline collections here in Sacramento and picked up an employee collection at the convention plus i had a blast this year at the convention as always though.
In the summer time i went camping to a lake there was a vw show that happens every year that was a lot of fun. On the way back home i decided to take hwy 20 to check on this property with some vintage cars and to surprise the cars were still there. Now there was no house just a bunch of desirable cars and a couple of trailers. This time i was going to locate and find out who the owner was because in all these years i had never been able to find out. I went knocking on doors and this is the middle of nowhere the neares neighbor was 1/4 mile after a while of knocking on doors i found out that the guy had died and the cars were going to be sold in a week or two. I was very lucky i was at the right place at the right time.Couple weeks went by and i was the second buyer in line. I ended up buying 10 cars. The family member that sold me the cars told me what the owner was like he was a hermit and wore only underwear to dress he also hated people and he never sold any cars to no one. All the previous times that i came knocking he was in the trailer. One very cool thing was that there was another group of of cars sitting under an oak tree a mile away into the property. This place was like Disneyland lol. The cars ended up buying were unbelievable,3 1940 Ford 5 window coupes,1940 Ford Pick up,1940 Mercury,1936 Ford 5 window coupe,1949 chevy fastback,1951 business coupe,1970 VW bug, and a 1934 Ford Cabriolet. It was the find of my life although i was disappointed the guy had no rare VW's they were all Fords. Funny thing about this guy was he loved Fords and Volkswagens there was even a couple of VW planes that he made crazy stuff for sure.
A week ago i bought another car a 1941 Chrysler Royal 3 window business coupe i could not resist.
I just wanted to share with you guys what fun it was to wake every morning for a period of two weeks and go and dig these cars out the ground and load them into my trailer.
So it be interesting to find out what you guys found this year.
Thanks Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Wow Mario, you did pretty well for yourself. I really like the 34 in the first pic. It reminds me of a car I spent a lot of time cruising in as a kid. Congratulations on your find of finds. Great stuff for sure.

Wow...those pics are what my dreams are made of! Rusty gold...
I'll take the '36 or one of the '40's off your hands. Nice projects like that just don't come around for me in the brutal northeast. Congrats!

Re: What were your greatest finds in 2011
my greatest finds were a few websites that report the real news and how bad a shape not only our financial system really is, but the worlds. With this invaluable information and with extensive reading and research i was able to protect myself and family if the SHTF. 2012 could be a tuff year!
