looks like a typical garden spider
had these all over when i was growing up
they can get freakin huge

Garden Spider as stated above. Will cause a fright if you walk through one of their webs in low light conditions...gives you the creeps, but they are a great asset in the volume of bugs they eat.

I think it's a golden orb spider. Gnarly looking, but won't bother you. Funny how their body and leg structure are so much like that of a black or brown widow...

I haa huge spider streched between the front post and the pear tree in the front yard. Harmless or not it caught me by surprise and scared the #$%^ out of me
