NEW DECAL ARTWORK!! 8/28/7 PYTHON ROOF & DETAILS!
SOME NOTES:

(1) The errors shown in some of the thumbnails below, noted, are by-products of generating the thumbnail from the layered monochrome printer artwork. I could make the thumbnails perfect, but only with additional substantial effort. This is a small price to pay for making the decals, ahem, perfect.

(2) Where the artwork should be white irrespective of car color, the decal is white. Where the artwork should be clear to let the car color show through, the decal is clear. Background colors shown below are for illustration only.

(3) The "real" artwork is rendered at 1200 dpi and printed at an even divisor, 600 dpi. This means that there is no aliasing visible to the naked eye - or generally even under 10x -- and that the printer doesn't cause unnecessary aliasing. My thumbnails are really quite horribly reduced. Why? Because my early thumbnails were stolen by at least one for-profit restorer and used to generate bootleg decals.

(4) No, these aren't all of my decals that are available. All the thumbs can be viewed here:
eric-peterson.org/images/...alArtwork/

Where some of these designs have already been produced by The Redline Shop as waterslides, or where they are already produced on vinyl, my versions are displayed for reference only and are not available.

(5) Once cleared testing, my decals are available exclusively through The Redline Shop.

(6) If you see something you need in my thumbs and Jon does NOT appear to have it listed in his store online, either mine or someone else's version, drop him a line. He probably has it, but just doesn't have it listed for some reason. He's told me before that the store code "loses" things. Just ask.

(7) Thumbs are not to scale.

US Python, top black, optional roof edge and B-pillar black, grill, and taillight.

HK Python, top black and grill.

Gold superchrome Rodger Dodger.

US Deora casting, tonneau and grill.

HK Deora casting, tonneau and grill.

Formula 5000 artwork, for both white and superchrome versions, has been remastered for improved color saturation and density.

Metal base/open hood/mixed wheel/no doorlines Olds 442 Police Chief from '74, or plastic base/fixed hood/open center wheels/no doorlines Olds 442 Police Chief from '75 and on.

Flying Colors Twin Mill in orange enamel, decals in red, white, and blue.

Flying Colors American Victory McLaren ... translucent blue over opaque white for medium blue car, plastic base.

HK Ford J-car engine cover blackout.

HK Ford J-car chassis tail end blackout.

HK Ford J-car, hidden hinge, tail end blackout, common large vent.

HK Ford J-car, hidden hinge, tail end blackout, uncommon small vent.

Flying Colors COOL ONE dragster in plum. These are a real pain to apply. Experts only. They MUST be trimmed very closely, and they MUST be coated with decal film, and they SHOULD be applied with decal softener, or else you can get some wrinkles at the tops of the fenders. Well, OK... you could probably apply the blue and the orange stripes in front separately and avoid the decal softener, but that will be one long, slender, fragile decal. I had the best luck applying my plain, black proofs in the final profile with the front stripes in three pieces, the two cuts corresponding pretty closely to the break between the slope of the nose and the fender arches.

Black top decal for the Classic Ford Coupe.

Black top decal for the Demon.

Classic Woody.

Classic Vicky.

GMC Motorhome decals have been remastered for improved print process. This is not on Jon's US vinyl set and he does not offer this artwork, which came on HK Ferrari 312Ps from the factory. This particular prancing horse does not appear to be a standard Ferrari logo. The aspect ratio of the horse itself is wrong and the shape of the shield is incorrect. It might have been a limited use period piece, but I have a bunch of 1/43 Ferrari from the '60s and none of the SF shields were precisely like it. Re: TODAY'S NEW DECAL ARTWORK! VW! BUZZOFF PROTO! UPDATED 7/
Disassembly hint:

Never use a drill!

When you use a drill bit, you either have to get it centered precisely on the post spin and it needs to be almost exactly the size of the post in the hole, or it doesn't come apart or you botch up the base.

Instead, use a 1/8" carbide ball cutter in a dremel at full speed. One $5 bit will do 40 or 50 cars before it dulls. You just gently eat the post spin head center down with the cutter from the center out. A good bit will cut the zamac like butter. At a point ten or fifteen seconds into the post, the rim of the spin will just pop off, leaving the base completely untouched. Practice on some commons or unrecoverable parts cars and you'll see how easy it is.

This has the added advantage that it leaves the end of the cut post flattish and slightly dished, ready to take a drill and tap.

For later plastic base FC cars, this is really the only way to get that spread post off the plastic without damaging the base. Pristine plastic bases are hard to find on some of the cars, and it sure does hurt to feel the drill slip off the post end and chew into the base! While the post spread always deformed the plastic base somewhat, using the high speed cutter allows you to remove the rim of the spread post without risking digging into the plastic and making it worse.

- E
