Pretty Big Earthquake in San Jose, CA

Well, we had a pretty good shaker here in San Jose this evening. It was a preliminary rating of 5.6. Nothing as big as the Loma Prieta quake of 1989 which wasa 7.1 but our house did shake alot but no damage to our house or my toys.<br><br>All in all, I will take these shakers anytime over those crazy tornado's or hurricanes anyday of the week and TWICE on Sunday. <img src="http://forums.gottadeal.com/images/smilies/smilies/shrug.gif" alt="image"><br><br>Now for the aftershocks...<img src="http://www.ezboard.com/image/posticons/pi_happydead.gif" alt="image"><br><br>Dave<br>

Good to hear you and your's is fine! We had a very very rare quake here on the Southern Bruce Peninsula about 4 years ago. I was sittin' in my swivelrocker and heard what sounded like heavy machinery gettin' closer and closer comin' into the gravel pit. Next thing I know it felt like I was on anairmattress going up and over a few waves. It was only about a 4.0 quake, but it sure made the hair stand up on my body. If they double with each point I couldonly imagine the quakes you guys get. Hey Dave! Remember them darn aftershocks after the Loma Prieta in 89? You could hear them coming...I miss the weather in San Jose, but sure don't missthose earthquakes...<br>Glad it wasn't big enough to cause damage. Damage report: Acoustic ceiling tiles fall in our local Target. Ironically in the Hot Wheels isle...... Oh well, not too bad for a moderate shaker. I guessthey will start calling California the "Shake n Bake" state.<br><br>Mike<br>
