New Ink.......Left arm Fully Sleeved

Well a couple months ago I decided to get my left arm sleeved out.........I talked to my son <a title="" target="_blank" href="http://coreycuc.com/">Corey</a>about it. He told me that although he was up for it that there was a tattoo artist that is one of the top 50 artists in the world a few blocks away from hisshop.......So I made an appointment for a consultation with <a title="" target="_blank" href="http://namebrandtattoo.com/artwork/364896.html">Jeff Zuck</a> atName Brand Tattoos.........I had a tattoo that was on my upper arm done 15-20 years ago by <a title="" target="_blank" href="http://www.studiotattoo.com/suzanne.html">Suzanne Fauser</a>..... In the past I was very judgemental about tattoos... and although I could still never have one on myself, I have come to appreciate the art of the tattoo. AndJack, that is a really, REALLY cool tattoo - just awesome!! Congrats! And I can't even tell where the original work was.<br><br>Greg

Whoa! The lavender and purple shading at your wrist is stunning! I see that he spared no ink in doing the white in the tiger, either. I would bet that'sthe more expensive stuff from Japan, too. I am flabbergasted over the shading work. WOW. Seriously.<br><br>HUGE congrats to you, HJ, on getting your full sleeve finished!! I still want a lot more, but on me, I like having some areas left untouched. I would love tohave both arms fully done, though.<br><br>At least you probably don't get asked "is that REAL?" It's been a while since I've been asked that, but the last time was priceless. Itwas asked by a woman who appeared to be around my age. The look on her face when I replied "No, it's an iron-on" in a matter-of-fact way ispermanently etched into my brain.<br><br>Again, big congrats to ya, HJ!

I don't interviewany more for jobs (thankfully), but if it's such a close minded person that they wouldn't offer me a job due to having some art on my arms, then Idon't wanna work for them anyhow.<br><br>Of course, if the table is bare of food and I couldn't get a job because of them...then the long sleeves would come out of the winter (yeah, I know, I livein Arizona) closet. I just made an appointment for my son Corey to recolor the top on the 7th of Sept........Two days before my birthday<br><br>Go for it Dave....As long as it can be covered by a short sleeve shirt your good to go.......I (in the past) have been laid off when I showed up at theChristmas party for the shop I was working for with short sleeves rolled up....Funny how they would lay off a Electrician (construction) for something likethat.........HJ<br>

Nice work but top 50 in the world? not so sure about that. Some of the line work is pretty much not straight where it should be. I'm tat free, but can certainly admire some great work. That is some awesome inking there HJ. Hard not to admire the work...<br>I've been tempted to get a simple one on my left shoulder blade, but just can't seem to bring myself to doing it. You made a comment about sunblock,do you have to sunblock the ink when you go outdoors? If yes, is that permanent, I mean, every time? If you don't want the colors to fade, it is recommended that you put sunblock over them while outside. But then again, aren't we supposed to do thateverywhere so to avoid skin issues? <img src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif"><br><br>Mike<br>HWsMinis

As soon as these heal completely and they don't feel like sunburns when the sun hits them I will be applying sunblock every time they get sunexposure.....Right now its long sleeves or stay out of the sun.....Aveeno makes a SPF 70 that is great........HJ

Sam, even the best in the world make minor errors. Plus, things happen, such as the client suddenly sneezing/coughing, someone passing by bumping the client orthe artist. Aaaaand, when you least expect it, there will be that one spot that's way more sensitive than the rest. I'm not saying that HJ jumped, butit has happened.<br><br>I go through a certain ritual before getting inked. I eat a light meal an hour or two beforehand and I always have a soda (sometimtes a Slurpee) on hand tokeep my blood sugar from tanking. I've seen people pass out from blood sugar getting too low when they run out of adrenaline and it drains their bloodsugar levels. I also know how to focus my breathing for the really painful parts. The past two sessions I've gone through, I didn't flinch once.Martial arts training (focus, breathing, and discipline) can pay off.<br><br>I go through a lot of sunblock, not just because I have ink, but because I don't want to have leathery skin when I'm 50-60. Get a peek at some tattooson people who love that glowing tan look. In a few short years, that cute little flower can look like a smudge or a blob. I'm waiting for the web sitesthat specialise in pictures of tramp stamps after a few years in the sun with no sunblock.<br><br>This is the work on my right calf. The "youngest" work is 16 years old (the main rose stuff) and the oldest (rose and butterfly on my ankle) are over20 years old.
