Anyone read any good books lately?

<p>I need to add some books to the list as it's getting into full time reading season here in Oregon. Why do I live here???? Anyway I enjoy books basedon fact and history the most but am certainly not limited to this. If you've read anything you really enjoyed please post it. I recently finished World War Z, by Max Brooks......if you like zombie stuff, it's a great read. Written in the first person account, from many peoplesexperiences. Fiction, of course, but a great read......<br><br>chad

I couldn't put down "The stranger beside me" it's a gruesome true story.<br><br>"The portable Henry Rollins" was kind trippy too.<br><br>Not new books by any means but couldn't put em down...

Fiction: Orbit by John Nance. Awesome story.<br>Bio: My Life In Duran Duran by Andy Taylor. But I'm biased, as I love that band.

Anne Rule also wrote a book about the I-5 Killer.<br>I met that SOB twice while he was doing his killing/robbing spree along the I-5 corridor...<br><br>Jeffery Deaver books are pretty good. I'm reading "Garden of Beasts" right now...<br>

This one is a very good read. <br><br>A book of poetry by a Navy Seal in the Can Tho Village in Vietnam for three years.<br><br>It's called "Lifetaker" by Bill Shields will make you wonder with amazement and shake your head from side to side.

Just finished McCormick's 'The Road.' Read it/buy it/read it again if your heart can take it. '06's Pulitzer Winner, if memory serves. Thevivid, sad tale of a man and his son walking to the coastline in a postapocalyptic world, where the sky is grey, all is covered in inches of ash and life - ofeverything left - is slipping to a final halt. When the cover is closed and the book isn't done, you'll worry about the well-being of the twocharacters.

I've been a John Irving fan since 'the World According to Garp'. I just finished his latest, 'Until I Find You', a long read, in histypical style, but I enjoyed it!

I'm just finishing up Michael &amp; Jeff Shaara's Trilogy on the American Civil War. I knew little about the war before, but I have enjoyed these booksso much I have ordered Shelby Foote's box set on the war.

I am reading "Lone Survivor" It's a true story about the Navy SEALS special ops in Afghanistan in 2002. Very good...easy read, Brian

I recently read Merle's Door, a book about a dog by Ted Kerasote.
