I'm hooked on it too. I can thank Greg (99octane ) for that.... I taped today's episode and I am going to watch it in a fewminutes..

Maribell
Gotta TIVO it every year...Just watched last nights episode, tonights episode just started, so I'll watch it tomorrow. I love TIVO. I hate commercials...
Been hooked on this show since season 2.

I'd like to see Jack Bauer, Chuck Norris, and McGuyver go at each other. Who would win????

Tomorrow is also the kickoff for American Idol. Yippeeeeeeee!!! TIVO overload!!!!

PeepingScott wrote:

I'd like to see Jack Bauer, Chuck Norris, and McGuyver go at each other. Who would win????

Mr T would win hahaha. I pitty the foo!
Been 100% in since the beginning. Season six was trash (even though they vaporized Valencia, which seemed to be a cool storyline at first), but despite thatsilly TV '24' movie a few months ago, so far season seven is 4 and 0 perfection.
Another fan here since day 1!

Awesome, isn't it.
Too bad president Palmer got killed off so soon.
Maybe the writers thought Hilary would be pres. by now.

Maybe the writers thought Hilary would be pres. by now.

I'm struggling with her role so far, not convincing...
I think the writers probably did think that...

Well, I thought that the writers chose a female president since the show already had a black president. Maybe they thought that bringingin a female president would attract more female viewers.

They certainly got it right when they chose that actor for President Logan. Didn't he remind you guys of "Tricky Dicky , President Nixon?

Well anyway, I hope the security system at the FAA is much better than the tv version.

maribell

Logan was Nixon to me when I watched that season!

I like the twists already this season. They always have some great twists, like Chubby Checker...
Ahhh!!! Chloey's back.
Still hooked, but I was worried about the potential for a jumpin of the shark, when Jack met the crew in a broom closet. "Who else is in" "ah,we're it." OK, I'm in.
My wife bought all of the seasons on DVD a while back (we don't get TV). She likes it. I don't. The story lines are ok but, in general, I found it tobe nothing but poorly disguised racist hate propaganda advocating torture. Disgusting.

Gramps
Grandpa, what do you mean that you don't get tv?

Maribell
interesting thing to ponder.....since "24" is about 24 for hours in the day and there are 24 shows in the season (one for each hour). Shouldn'tthere be at least 6 of the episodes that at least have Jack sleeping?
Jack doesn't sleep, he gets his rest from stabbing baddies in the eye with ballpoint pens. Though, I did see him drink a cup of coffee in one episode (Ithink season four, he was on a Hercules)...

what do you mean that you don't get tv
What I mean Maribell is that we don't get TV.

The last time we got TV was through Dish but we finally decided it was a total waste of money and had it turned off. That was 7-8 years ago. Maybe even 9-10. Idon't remember. Since then my wife buys movies and sometimes TV seasons and I buy an occasional documentary but that's about it. We've got a lot ofkids movies/cartoons for the grandkids too. I get all my news and sports from the web.

I also watched a couple of TV series at hulu.com a while back. One thing I noticed that was really interesting was that the running time of older 1 hour TVprograms (e.g. the original Star Trek) was 50+ minutes. The newer shows have a running time of barely 40 minutes.

Gramps
Chalk me up as another 24 fan!

My wife and I are hooked....

Dave
Add me in for 4 hours of lost sleep! And we loved it so far!

LANCE
I can't imagine not having a tv. I will read some articles online but I have to have my tv. Tv and my vcr and I amvery happy. I have never watched a tv show on the computer. To me, the computer is for work (Ebay). If I want to watch a tv series or movie, it's onthe tv.

maribell

I'll tell ya what, it has been very difficult to figure out these plots....just when one angle is covered....Bam! There goes that theory!

Like ol' Marv said before they tried to juice him in the chair..."Is that the best you can do...you pansies!"

Colin

Go kick some ass Jack!
In my best Hank Hill................... "I tell ya what".
This thread shouldn't die. This thread should be like Jack, always coming back when it looks hopeless

So far I'm into the show, but not like in the past. I will watch the entire season, but something is lacking, or maybe it's getting stale to me. Theairplanes colliding looked a little cheesy...this week didn't provide any twist that we usually get fed...I'm guessing next week I'll get a twistto go with my whine...

Comments? Opinions?
Well, no CTU is no CTU, might have something to do with that. I thought the Mrs. Presidents' husband sac-n-up and coming out of the comma just in time tothwart the commaslashing was pretty tight, and will bring a very interesting storyline. I'm still not convinced that 24 didn't jump the shark thisyear, but I'm still faithful for now. Are you allowed to run your own antigovernment conspiracy crew and kidnap other countries dignitaries, just becauseyou have a hunch? Cloe breaking out the "I was a stay at home Mom" when he asked if she was FBI? Comeon now, I thought the writers strike wassupposed to be over. And when your on a tight schedule, who cares about burying bodies of dead FBI agents either? Stay on task damnit.
Well, since the terriorist acts are occuring in the USA, it isn't as entertaining as in past years. I also don't like the factthat this might give some idiot ideas about hacking into control towers..... Afterall, I am in NY and 9/11 is still too painful. I know that it's fictionand Jack always saves the day but I would much rather that the terriorists hacked in the control towers over Europe or some other place besides the USA.

maribell
ahhhhhhhhhhh...much BETTER last night!!!!!
HA!! Good ol' Dubaku...riding public transportation and hiding from the ladies!

It's a TV show, so let's keep it in lalaland. From what I hear, the don't get SAT in the camps in Afganistan, so we don't have to worry aboutthem plotting around the latest episode of Jack Takes On the World-in loafers no less.......
Chris, the show can be seen online... Plus someone can videotape it and send it...... Anyway, let's hope that security is tight atthe FAA.

maribell
Jack is Back?????

You mean the Jack In The Box Drive Thru Clown? YAY!

"May i take your order please?" Ya, gimme 2 Bonus Jacks, and make it snappy, ya punk ass clown.......

Oh ya, they don't make those anymore either, they went by way of the clown............

I have yet to watch an episode of "24", and probably never will......

I have been a fan since day one, but I think tonight is the night, as Chris mentioned before, that the show will "jump the shark". I know it isfiction, but a rebel leader from a tiny, third world country is going to take the White House and the President? Come on writers, you can do better than that.

P.S. 9/11 is still painful for all Americans no matter where in the country we happen to live. It affected us all deeply. Fortunately, it is not as easy in thereal world to infiltrate the FBI, FAA, White House, etc. as it is on TV. :)
I have one eye on the tube and one on RLOL, great show, however I agree, taking over the White house, c'mon.....

Ray
Just finished watching it...exciting? Yes. Far fetched Hollywood crapola? YES!
Did I miss something? In the Presidential "Bunker" in the White House, were there no means of communication? No internal surveillance camera's? No phone system? No way to monitor inside the bunker? Did I miss it, or did the show writers miss it? That taking over the White House can never happen. No way, no how. BUT, it is Hollywood...
I can't wait for Jack to torture someone else!!!
The other issue is the prevalence of cell phone communication or in essence the ease of it, and the way hi level agents speak freely within earshot ofsubordinates...but bring Jack and his stun gun!

Colin
That lil ragtag group from whereever, sure has some sick gadgets as well. They don't know how to point a weapon, but they sure are accurate... The onlything missing from last night was the hoops with the flames on them for the sharks to jump through. See you next week.
This administration sure likes to go thru presidents...looks like another is on the block...literally!

Colin
Didn't see that one coming...I think one of the best features of this show is the intro to new characters, and the ability to dismiss them at any giventime...just when u think this agent is an essential part of the story line....BINGO! Next...

Colin
Notice how it's been three weeks since the Presidents husband got shot? No mention in three weeks? You'd think the Pres and her daughter would havesurely brought it up in the last two episodes...
The show is far fetched, and sometimes silly, but like Chris said, "See you next week!"
Can't wait...
If your goin in a military compound where you knew they where armed with mercs and your goin in via aerial...WHERE ARE THE FREAKIN" GUNSHIPS???

I feel the shark is almost outta the tank...I wouldn't let Larry lead the Cub Scouts let alone the FBI...here's to him gettin smoked!

Colin
