Favorite guitar solo's

John's post is sure bringing out some good old rock n roll songs. What were your favorite solo's? Mine was this one, starting at 2:18. Scott, I hear you and am with you on Blackmore, they were my fav. If you can get a hold of deep Purple and the Royal Philharmonic orchestra, (circa @1971) Listen tothe 2nd movement his solo is unreal!!

Re. John's response to what I said.... and I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I need to say this... Man, I can really be an arrogant jerk sometimes, huh? I don't know what gets into me sometimes.... maybe I had a frustrating day at work and I was angry orsomething? Forget the excuses - what I said was uncalled for and unnecessary, unfair and just wrong. John, thanks for calling me down. Petrucci is a madman, an absolute ace player. A lot of people have never heard of him. Dream Theater is one of my favorite bands, saw them a couple of summers ago and was floored at the performance. Theyplayed all of their harder stuff. Petrucci seems to play effortlessly, amazing...the rest of the band is incredible too. Their Train of Thought CD is incredible if you're into great arrangements that rock, and rock hard!<img src="http://redlinesonlinemessageboard.yuku.com/domain/bypass/images/rockon.gif" alt="image">

I love Dream Theater. Petrucci, Myung and Portnoy all went to Berkley. I believe that's how they all met. If you like Dream Theater,you should check out Coheed and Cambria. You might like them. They have that same Progressive rock sound. One of Coheed and Cambria's influence is DreamTheater. Most people have never heard of Dream Theater let alone Petucci. Dude knows how to shread.

My nephew had the privilege of meeting my favorite guitarist, Jimmy Page. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v151/outdoorelvis777/Corey/COREYANDJIMMYPAGE.jpg" alt="image"> Hard to pick just one of his solos as his best. Dude can do things on his guitar that very few others can. As someone else has mentioned, John Petrucci of Dream Theater is awesome. David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler, Alex Conti are just a few of my other favs.
