I'm not a Laker fan, and I'm less of a Kobe fan, but that was quite a beating they doled out. Looking good for them to take the title. Cleveland isgoing to be lucky to make it to the finals, and extremely worn out if they do. Sorry.. but haent been ont he computer much this weekend.....but I'm here now.. Yes, NUGGETS looked terrible, and Lakers looked great the last 2 games ofthe series. The way we played, we did not deserve to win.<br><br>As for dirty plays...Every team has dirty plays and or players.. I've seen Kobe get away with lots of "sly" slaps, punches, pushes and so on...I'll admit the Nuggs had some dirty plays.. but anybody that can say NOBODY on thier own team plays dirty at 1 point or another (whether it gets called ornot) is in denial. All teams do dirty things, some get away with them, some don't.. it's all part of the game.<br><br>Overall, I'm very impressed with the turn around the NUggs had this year.. they went from not being able to make it out of the first round year after year,to taking the best team int he west to 6 games in the conference finals...<br><br>I personally don't think the Lakers can cover the Magic on the 3 point line.. so I'm guessing Magic in 6. Sorry, Kobe can't do it without Shaq, ashas been proven time and time again...<br><br>Now flame away! hahaha

Denver teams are perfect at "flash in the pan years" unfortunately! Rockies gotswept in the World Series, and followed up with a terrible season.. Bronco's (who I HATE), had 2 glory years, and have been fairly flat since.. At this point? It's all gravy and I hope it will go seven, as I love the finals!!! Howard will get his, but those other stiffs, can sit around the and jack 3's all day long-GO FOR IT. This game will come down one simple thing, rebounding.Olando lives by the 3, but if your good, your shooting 40%, that means out of every 10 shots, 6 was waiting to be rebounded and scored the other way. The Sunsalready showed everyone, you can't live with 3.......

We'll see... I think when you just have a couple of players that can shoot the 3, you can't live by it.. but when all of your team can hit the 3..well, who defends all those? Sure, the Lakers will get some rebounds...but overall their rebounding wasn't great against the Nugg's.. and the Nuggsarent a good rebounding team.. Orlando has better rebounding, a dominant big man.. and can rain 3's. If the Lakers went to 7 against Houston and 6 againstDenver (of which a few games were only decide by a few points) I don't know that they'll be able to beat Orlando.<br><br>Time will tell...Odom and Vujachickbetter step thier games up, Fish (the only player I like on the Lakers), really needs to step it up..and even with all that,I don't think it will be enough.<br><br>Using the 40% shot/rebound thought:<br><br>40% 3's = 12 points on every 10 shots...<br>6 rebounds equals 6 opportunities for those missed shots. LAKERS would have to hit 100% of those shots to get the same 12 points... and that for sure won'thappen....<br><br>so, even if the MAGIC got 0 offensive rebounds (not likely) on thier 3's, the lakers would have to shoot 100% (impossible) to tie the Magic 3 ball shots...I like my odds, I'll take the Magic in 6...

Tom, I don't know how your math works, but the game you just tallied isn't a game the Lakers will be playing (2nd chances points, without considerationfor the 1st, changes the math dramatically). FYI, Orlando does rain 3's, but guess who's shooting a better % in the playoffs? That's right, theLakers. Tom, I agree with you that it will be a great series. I'm usually one to root for the underdog too, but not when the Dodgers or Lakers involved! Lakers in5 sez me. The FISH has been stale all playoff's.. I don't see him coming to life.. Bynum has been a flop for the most part, Gasol is soft, Vujachick hasn'tdone anything.. Odom had 1 good game... I actually like(respect)the Lakers(Kobe),but you have some good points - Fisher is old,Gasol is "soft". Laker's have the playoff<br>experience and that could be the difference here. Lamar is the X factor, but he looks scary SIC in the last two games, unguardable. Orlando did beat the Lakers this season, butthe GUY who beat the Lakers, isn't playing in this series.......

Ya, Kobe got hammered.. as many people do/did and will.. Kobes push on Jones was in game 1, and IMO what started Jones down his path of dirt in the Lakersseries... But, it's basketball, they are all grown men, just play, if you get pushed , who cares, keep playing, ya know.<br><br>Too many whiners in the league for sure..<br><br>Gasol - Being an all star means nothing in my book...it's a popularity contest. and hes popular because he's in LA. Look at Shaq, he was an All Stareven though he was injured most of the season..<br><br><br><br>He blocks a few shots here and there, but blocking shots does not equal defense (ie Birdman - top shot blocker per minute in the league, but not a greatdefensive player). He puts up double doubles a lot...but thats not hard to do when you are the big man on the floor. Overall, he is tougher than he used tobe.. but he still isn't big on boxing out against other big men, going hard to the rim, or taking hard fouls. He's a smart player , yes, but sometimeshis "smarts" make him play soft...<br><br>Im probably a bit over critical of him because he's a Laker.. but IMO he's still soft.. and Bynum has been a flop in the playoff's, so who'sthe big man to dominate for them like DH will for the Magic?<br><br>Nelson may play in this series, and yes, he was the reason they beat the Lakers in the season.. but since he has been injured, the Magic haven't fallen,they've been playing just as well... Gasol was an all-star in Memphis, not with the Lakers. Remember, he's not the bigman either, he's playing the 4 position, not the 5, and doing so at 7foot. DH is a gamer, but he's very much like Shaq in "his" Orlando days, just a dunker, and I didn't care for Shaq's game very much backthen. DH has talent, but he needs to become a Gasol type of shooter and have some range, once he does that, then he will be a force. Nelson has been cleared,but he's nowhere near ready to play FINALS ball. Orlando would be not very smart to rush him back and have him hurt that shoulder, since it was supposed tobe serious injury. 60 days doesn't heal that type of wound.

Just one quick thing to say because I'm more of a "fan" than a "basketball guy"...<br><br>But yeah, Tom, you are one of the few non-Lakers fans here, and that's a tough position to be in; so I gotta give you kudos for handling it with aplomb andkeeping the discussion fair and civilized!

I dont think they'll start Nelson, maybe only play him a little bit.. I don't think LeBron blew it.. he did all he could.. his team and coach didn't provide him much of anyhelp to win any games. He WAS the team, and that will never work. <br><br>I was VERY dissapointed in him and the way he handled the loss.. I guess he still has some immaturities. I understand his frustrations, scoring 40 points agame , nearly averaging a triple double for the series, and still not being able to win has to suck...but come on man, you're a multi million dollarathlete.. 1 of the most gifted young athletes to play the sport.. take the time to suck it up, talk to the media and fans and stop sniveling!
