Lots of things have changed. People get suspended from school for doing things we were allowed to do.

I had a Fanner 50 smoker with "Shootin' Shells", when you were a kid in the 60's realistic looking hardwarewas a MUST!!! The gun was cool enough, BUT..... The holster and more importantly the cartridge belt ruled our lives! The belt, all the way around had thoseslots in it you could load up yer ammo. The "ammo"...... Shootin Shells had a metal casing with a spring, which you quickly stretched out to give youmaximum velocity, but that wasn't enough.....<br><br>My best buddy, Gentry Harris (ohhhhhh the STORIES I could tell ya of two boys growing up in Southwest Kansas!) and I would take the hard little bullet tips anddrill em' out...... Melt soldiering wire and fill the hole with the molten metal, (HOLLOW POINTS!!!) WHAPPPPPP!!!! These things would leave a monster weltand there was no question if you had indeed been shot/killed!!! Ahhhhh....... Toys that could maim..... MEEEEEEMMMORIES!!!!!

I grew up (debateable) in the ghettos of Cincinnati. Those were some of the best days of my life but I wouldn't want to go back there.<br>The only way I would go back if is I knew then what I know now.<br><br>Tim

The kids nowaday are using real guns, with no remorse.

This might be a good place to ask: What was the toy gun (from the late '70s, early '80s thereabouts) that was banned because of the noise it made whenfired? I think one of my friends back then had one; it made this loud WHONNGG sound. It was way too noisy and thought to be harmful to eardrums or something...

Yes- times have changed... a local cop told me that gangs are painting the tips of REAL guns orange, so they can get the drop on cops... sad, sad world...

Who would've thought:<br><br>1. Paint a fake gun's orange tip black to look real....this has crossed my mind...............<br><br>BUT................<br><br>2. Dave, it's only because I love purty cars, from any time in history, and from any place on the planet. Ihave plenty (actually more than redlines) of current HW cars as well - and Matchbox, Tomica, Corgi, Solido, old and new. I'd go back. I had lots of fun. I'd still rather play baseball in a field than on a video screen.<br><br>I never see pick up baseball games any more.
