Crank up the tunes!!!

When you're cruisin down the road listening to one of your favorite celestial or satellite radio stations what bands get you going and which are an automatic change the dial fast....... Well i have several i crank to. And several i change. Will just list a couple. Crank>> G&R, Sammy, A couple older Zebra songs, newER bands i jam on creed quite a bit ETC Changers>> Unlike you Don i cant stand the stones, ANY RAP of any type, of course they dont play rap on the stations i listen to. Any girly guy music hasto go. JEZ This could take all day. You get the picture. Whats good is good and whats not SUCKS! Mike

Cool thread. Classic rock station I crank up tunes by AC/DC, Skynyrd (and other Southern Rockers), Ozzy, G&R, John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, The Cars and a few others I change it when they play stuff by the Dead and a few other mellow acts Country stations I crank up most anything that twangs, particularly if it has an 80's Southern Rock sound (see above) I change the station any time that no-talent Kenny Chesney comes on (which seems to be most of the time) Oldies stations I crank up Smokey Robinson, the Supremes, most Beatles tunes after 1965 and the same with the Beach Boys. I also find I like a lot of 60's and 70's onehit wonders and bubblegum pop There's lots I don't care for from this era, but nothing stands out

Crank it up: anything Dream Theater or RUSH...Vaseline by Stone Temple Pilots...White Zombie, Thunder Kiss 65, More human than human...AC/DC before that crappy Brian whatshis name vocalist(allegedly)...early VanHalen...most Blue Oyster Cult...Living Sacrifice for thrash metal...Pantera...ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Barracuda!!!! If I thought long and hard I might come up with something. Maybe something from Nirvana but I'm not sure there is anything I crank made after Should IStay or Should I Go by the Clash. 90% of anything else made in the 80's gets turned. Wait, I think Owner of a Lonely Heart by Yes came out after SISoSIG? so that would be anexception.

It's only politics and religion that bring out the worst in people. I don't listen to the radio much because I hardly drive. (Bus and bike to work - Ipod time when on the bus). When I do drive, I usually pop in a CD becausethe song on the radio usually sucks. If I had a long trip and had a good radio station my list of "crank it" tunes would look a lot like yours.I'd let a little old Pearl Jam or Pumpkins into the mix because that's the music I grew up on. For the new music, Silversun Pickups is a current fave.But really, the old stuff like on your list is what I really appreciate these days. In fact, I credit your other thread with my recent resurgence of DeepPurple listening. Man those guys sound great on a really good system with high quality re-master source material. (I'll be buying some Zep re-masters todayfor a birthday present to myself.) Good thread Don! Steve

Ah yes, Sabbath! JEBlade hooked me up with a bunch of old Sabbath a few months ago and that is what really started down the path of reconnecting with the oldstuff. I had gotten distracted when HD Don started talking about Purple and that got me back into it. Steve

PANTERA! (long live Dimebag) Slayer is killer. Like Scott said, Rush &Dream Theater is f'n killer too. I would have to think about the music that sucks (it would be a long list) because there is a lot of it that just blows. I would rather just list whatgets me going. You said Poison. LOL Was that even a band? Yea, they suck real bad. Posers. He said Winger too. LOL Sorry red spec, but I for one, think that KISS sucks. (go ahead and flame me now) Talentless makeup wearing clowns. there is too much too list on either end. try to list what has not been listed crank-system of a down, godsmack, avenged sevenfold, ramones, mudvanye,anything maiden, suicidal tendencies, sepultura, dep leppard everything before andnothing after high and dry, dokken, wasp blackie still kicks ass, skid row only slave, and the almighty twisted effin sister change-anything by skynyrd but mainly freebird, talking heads, nirvana, guns n posers, warrant, jethro tull, i know i'll catch hell on this but i neverliked the beatles but really liked mccartneys and harrisons solo stuff. did i say how much i hate skynyrd

Yep way to much to list for sure. I did forget Skynard thats my FAV souther rock band. Badfinger has a couple killer songs. Keep thinkin they just keep poppinin to my head.

Crank up: All Def Leppard, All Van Halen, All Metallica, All Bad Company, Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson, Shinedown, Velvet Revolver, Breaking Benjamin, Seether,Disturbed, and many more..... Turn it: When my wife has left it on the country station! Most older classic rock...I have heard it all a thousand times already. Anything by a boy band!
