What color should I paint the Montego? Watch this VIDEO I made to help me decide....

In my attempts to visualize how the car I just bought ('69 Mercury Montego)<br>would look in different colors, I took one of the photos I have of it in it's<br>current flat black paintjob, and used Photoshop to change the color of the paintjob.<br>Then I ran a slideshow of the pics, which employed a fade transition between the colors,<br>which really looked great. I'm really liking one of the dark orange colors. One of the bright colors (not burnt) - like a cadmium.

THe dark purple

As it sits (the music helps this a little), the car definitely has a certain "Road Warrior" look to it (sans fuel cells, mindless savages, red dust,etc.). Awesome car...I'm on the darkish-orange bandwagon...a good, unique color that will stand out in a crowd and you won't see yourself coming orgoing. Just don't put any stickers on it...

I think you should make it change all colors just like the video. <img src="http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/tongue.gif" alt="image"><br><br>Just kidding. They all look great to me. In the end it's a personal choice that you're gonna make no matter what anyone says. So I gotta believe youjust wanted to show the video.<br><br>And thanks for doing that, because it's cool and you did a great job on it.

The color that reminded me of spectraflame magenta really popped to me and is a color you won't see on every other car at the show. Second, I like thelighter of the two blues shown.

I like that blue.Magenta would also be a good choice.Both colors would make the chrome and that grill stand out.

I'd like to see that in an ice blue with the purple undertones! But, I do like that blue color.

Yeah, go for a spectraflame, or in your case? A JL color?? IT won't ever "tone"......... <img src="http://www.ezboard.com/image/posticons/pi_wink1.gif">

I really like that Olive tone at the very beginning just before the Oranges start. It gives it a nice origional look. <p>Forgive me for being the fussnut designer here, and you did a great job on the vid... but... you have to remember that you're just changing the hue, sowhat you have is a representation of what any of those colors would look like <em>in a matte finish</em>. When it becomes a gloss finish, the look changescompletely - the highlights are different (almost reversed) and there are direct and transparent reflections. I've done this many times as a service tolocal customizers, and learned (unfortunately the hard way...) that just changing the hue of a matte finish can be incredibly misleading.</p><p>Here's a little trick I've used to go from matte to glossy, or vice versa... First, convert the color layer to grayscale; then invert it; thencolorize the inversion and go from there. You'll have to mess with it a bit, and you still won't have any transparent reflections, but it'll giveyou a much more accurate "read" of the much more high-definition, and higher-contrast look of a gloss paint job.<br><br>I hope I'm not being a ninny here (well, maybe it's just my personal nature and I can't help it!)... but I just want you to be pleased with theresult, 'cuz it's a way cool car!</p>

<p>I wouldn't call it "4WD" height, more like a mean muscle stance.<br>And yes I'm going to leave it at that height, and will be keeping these tires for awhile.<br>Lot's of meat left to burn off.
