She has a bad tumor that would more than likely killher if they were to operate. Actually she can't walk so I will carry her. Family is so sad. The other dogs Ranger and Little Raven know something iswrong.<br><br>Mike<br></p>

That is heartbreaking.I have a dog thats looks like the black one.He has gold trim is about the only difference in looks.I wish there was something to say tomake easier to take ....but there isn't.

Sorry to here Mike.<br>Most people lose their pets and don't get to say goodbye. I guess for this reason alone you are somewhat lucky. Make sure Tasha gets herself a nice hunk ofbeef jerky and enjoy your last moments together.<br><br>Tim
We made that last walk together. She was a little better this morning when I picked her up at the emergency vets. So we went for a ride, she always likedriding in the truck, and was able to walk in at our regular vets office. Mike, I hate to see pets suffer and I hate to see their owners suffer. As several have said, it would sure be nice to make the pain go away for you. I'mstill grieving for our cat Grete we lost unexpectedly over a year ago. Tasha had a good home and good care takers, so she was blessed. Take care...<br><br>Jeff

We took our two year old Baseni female in for shots today and one of them was pink........ I demanded to make certain this wasn't the "shot"....It wasn't, but I still thought about this thread on a normal shot process!!!

I'm having trouble reading everyone's responses because of my eyes. I feel for you. I'm sure Tasha is a fantastic member of the family. Look at itthis way........you are lucky to get to make that last walk. My Bennie died in 1997. He was our first wedding present in 1983. I "didn't get to saygoodbye to him or let him die with our scent near him to comfort him. He died after an attempt to cool his body temperature down and I got the phone call. Theywere going to keep him there for the night and told me to go home. He was my best buddy.....ever. I have an extremely soft place in my heart for dogs. Theygive relentlessly and never need a whole lot from us except our love. Rest easy Tasha. Say hi to Bennie for me.
As much as I do not want to bring this up again, 5 weeks almost to the day we had to say goodbye to our other old girl, Ranger. I guess it was a combination ofold age and loss that she finally wanted to go. Up until the point we lost Tasha, always figured Ranger would be the first to go and worried how Tasha wouldcope. So it was not unexpected.<br>Ranger was my son's dog, got her when he was 5, now he's 19 and in college. I believe she held on until he got home last Friday, and were able to saytheir goodbye's. She seemed to be ready to go then. My wife and I took her in the next morning to confer with the vet, and as with Tasha we were able to bewith her as she passed.<br><br>Rest easy my daughters,<br><br>Mike
Aggghhhhhh....... This stuff rips me to pieces....... Hang in there Mike, give yourself soem time and get a new pup, it won't fill the hole, but it willsure keep you busy enough to keep from thinking about it!

Funny that you should express yourself that way. My parents had 2 chihuahuas and I used to say that Mickey was mylittle brother. When that dog died, it hit me very hard and I did't even live at home then. (I had just gotten married.) It's amazing how much peoplecan love their pets.
