I Normally Don't Rant, but this Ebay Transaction has *****!!!

I normally do not rant, but this transaction has got me a bit steamed. ( I know, only little toy cars ), but in this case it is the principle of thesale. ( as per what was invoice in the paypal invoice ). ABout 30 minutes ago, I get a message that says my money has been refunded. Attached is this message: Items paid with paypal MUST be sent registered airmail - see item description. I am sorry, but I made bad experience withpaypal. Rgds Rolf If it costs more to ship, then put it in the auction invoices. OR....bill me for the extra charges. Don't just refund me. Imessaged the person and no response yet. Personally, I think he is ticked that these went cheaper than he may have thought. Either way...I am feeling NOT RIGHThere!!! OK...rant done....better now. Rolf

You are probably right-he was expecting more coin. He figured out a way to weasel $20 EACH! for shipping-yikes!

I felt a little uneasy about those auctions. You hold all the cards as he has 100% feedback that he wants to keep intact.

Sorry, the seller was absolutely correct. As an Ebay seller, I always prefer a US. buyer because I can get tracking and ins. Thatseller is merely protecting his butt because PAYPAL does not give a crap about sellers. He is making all buyesr that don't live in his country pay forregistered mail. He wrote it in the ad anyway. This way , the seller is protected. By refunding, he did the correct thing. If you pay him twice, Paypal makes a commission twice. Ask him to send you an invoice with the correct amount and stop complaining. He just wants to cover his butt. He did exactly what ALL sellers should do whenthe buyer lives outside of their country and the buyer needs to send the item registered mail. If the parcel is lost, the seller is protected. Registeredmail does cost more. With me, I now send most out of the USA items by priority international mail. Sure it costs more for the buyer but I need to cover myself. I do tell theforeign bidders when they email in advance. anyway, if you want the cars, pay the fee or pay him in EUROS . This way , he doesn't have to worry about a cancelled payment.... Ah ha, you didn'tlike that last one. But why should the seller assume the risk if a package is lost? The seller is absolutely 100% correct. He probably sent the invoicetoo quickly and didn't realize that you lived outside of his country. maribell

And sometimes...just sometimes, the buyer does have rights.

The name Rolf rings a bell.. Try to contact Werner aka Diecastsontrax, I think he knows the seller. Anyway $10 Standard Int'l Flat Rate +$6 registered airmail for Paypal still isn't $20 last time I checked. Looks like the seller was indeed expecting more $ for his items so he tries it that way.. pretty low

When you list on Ebay USA, you can't write a price for international sales unless you are going to use a flat rate box. It'simpossible. Every country is different. I'm assuming it's the same in Switzerland (or wherever that seller is.) He can combine the shipping and addthe 6 dollar registered mail... I would email the seller again and ask him for a combined invoice with the registered mail fee added. It's possible he listed this in his country too and paid extra to list on Ebay USA. It's possible now to list on other Ebay-countries by paying anextra fee. maribell

 OK , that gift option can come back to haunt an established Ebay seller. If I list something on ebay , you are NOT going to pay me via the gift option unlesswe're truly good buddies. An ebay seller can get in trouble for doing that. What is the big deal about the refund and having to repay? That is thecorrect thing . It took you longer to start this post than to re-pay a new fee. Also , this is an international sale so the fees are higher. 1% higher. No way does that seller want to pay Paypal an extra comission. Sure heshould've remembered to add the 6.oo registered mail fee when he first emailed you. He remembered afterwards, he refunded . That is the correct thing todo. . Now if you want the cars , pay him. But it does seem high to charge 10 dollars shipping per car. I would've asked him for combined shipping assoon as the 2nd auction ended. I aksed him to re-invoice me for the purchases with what he thought should be correct shipping. I did a little researchto, a standard rate shipped with a delivery conf. via Suisse Post is about $20-$25.00 US dollars. ( avg on a small box to hold 2 cars ). The seller has not responded back to me. I know it is still early, but if he really wanted to sell me these, he could have refunded, then immedietlyre-invoiced me with the new total. His message really made it seem as though this was a way to back out of the sale. Yes, I did get my money back...to me, it was the principle of the whole transaction. I came, I saw, I bid, I won, I paid, all according to what the SellerListed and to Ebay's Policy. When I sell, I do ship Internationally. I usually put a higher amount to ship outside the US, if when I ship the package is less, I try to refund thedifference. It can be a pain, but only right.

Give him a day or two and then make contact w/ Ebay. Make sure thatyou let them know that you are still waiting for the invoice withthe correct amount. Refunding money via paypal is easy. It's asking for extra money that is a pain. Anyway,hopefully the seller will respond soon. maribell

And reading into this email, the shipping cost was short by $5.00. To some, that is big, others, well not so big.
