35 years

It seems like yesterday,but i have been repairing appliances for Sears now for 36 years.<br>What do you guys and gals do ?<br><img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b158/jimzreds/chevyfewerproto008.jpg" alt="image">

I sell tires and automotive services in a Sears Auto Center, over 5 years now. Pretty good at it but NOT my life's calling -- just glad to be working.<br>

Wow Jim, THAT is awesome! I'm always amazed seeing the longevity that some people have spent at one work place. I think it's a smart thing to do inthe long run. I used to get bored and move on to another job every 5 years, until the dent stuff that I do now, been 15 years doing it, and am really tired ofit, but still have to go another 10 at least...ughhhhhhh...<br><br>A BIG tip of the hat to your sir! 35 years!! Wow Congrats!! I was with the same company for 22 years before they went out of business. I work in Retail, getting tired of it and looking to moveon soon...

way to go Jim!! I have been a carpenter for rite at 25 years. But its real bad rite now been off work for some time. gotta do a little of this and a little ofthat just to keep goin. Congrats to you Jim!

That's a pretty impressive feat today !!!<br><br>I was with a printing company for 26 years prior to being laid off just over a year ago. Like so<br>many others, it's since been a matter of doing whatever comes along to make a buck.<br><br>The days of a life-long career are fast coming to an end. I've read reports that kids entering the<br>work-force today will have an average of 7 careers (not jobs - CAREERS !) in their working life ! It<br>is also the first time in history that todays kids don't have the opportunities to do better than their<br>parents.<br><br>.... Not really something to look forward to !<br><br><br>Mark.

That's awesome, Jim - congratulations! I'm an Architect and just recently left the company I had been with for over 15 years, also due to lack of work.<br><br>Say, btw... do you know how to reverse the doors on a Kenmore fridge?? (kidding... JUST KIDDING!!)

Also can they explain why my Kenmore dryer chews up my towels. ( a dryer that cost nearly $1,200.oo.) I actually mailed Sears a chewed up towel and they neverresponded to my letter. Anyway, I feel better knowing that at least 1 Sears employee heard my complaint. Congratulations. I can't imagine doing anyjob for that long...<br><br><br>Ok, for me, 23 years domestic engineer (housewife ) and 11.5 years Ebay seller (and yes, I consider selling on Ebay a job..) ... That's amazing. 35 years- wow. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v235/chevyhoney/beerdrinking.gif"><br>I am a college student. when I'm not at school, I do plumbing with my dad (mostly "grunt" work) although I do actual plumbing. I've beengoing on jobs with him since I was 3 or 4. whenever the union starts up classes again (bad economy- over 300 unemployed union plumbers), I will start trainingas an apprentice. Until then, I will continue to take classes at college.

Congrats on the 35 year aniversary!<br>I've been in printing since 89. That's 20 years. 11 at one company, tried another for a year then moved on to where I'm at now and it's been 8years. We've had 4 layoffs this year and knock on wood I've dodged them all. Learn as much as you can while your there and you become a greater assetto the company.<br><br>Tim

Congrats on 35 years. I work at one of the few remaining places full of lifers, the power company.
