Lol its not fun to watch people work on cars but I got a motor swap to finish, bed to tub, front mount intercooler to plumb and part throttle boost controller to install.

Beats watching grown men hit a ball with a stick while wearing their grandpas pajamas.

Hey Dave NFL ALL THE WAY!! Baseball is very hard to watch. But its that time of year, so>> GO CARDINALS!!
eh, I love baseball. Last night is the only time I'll watch the Yankee's or Red Sox on purpose though.

Odd though. I've never been to an opening day where one doesn't have to wear a heavy coat.
To clarify. I love baseball but I hate MLB. Three games are advertised as on right now. Pirates, Reds and Indians. I don't live within 200 miles of any of those teams nor even in the same state.

Not a one of them are on. I don't know about the rest but the Indians game is even in Chicago. MLB sucks.
Baseball is the Greatest sport in the World! No debate! Don't like than don't watch it! It's that easy! MLB is the Greatest! GO REDS!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Best time of the year!
I can't stand Baseball...to each his own...NFL and UFC are my favorite spectator sports.
I don't mind attending a MLB game, if the tickets are free. It is a pretty relaxing day at the park, all worries in life get put on the back burner for a few hours, basting in the warm weather. What's even worse if it's a boring 1-0 game, I like a lot of hits, stolen bases, double plays, and seeing them fly out of the ballpark steroid style, but only if the tickets are comped to me, along with free parking...who wants to pay $15 to park on a piece of dirt?
Like you said to each his or her own.

The WS I'll watch and maybe an occasional game on TV but not too much. Used to love working in the garage and catching a game on the radio...ahh the simple days before HD, LCD and all this other crapola...

GO PUJOLS MVP, MVP, MVP!!!

GO CARDS

Actually going to games is tolerable. I've seen the cubs, white sox, cardinals, reds and rangers play in person....but as a general rule of thumb I don't turn down free tickets. Couldn't see paying for it.
Fun to read all the opinions on BB. I am one who's first love is NHL hockey....college is also very good but baseball is the sport of summer especially here in N.E. The Bosox own the sports headlines here with the Bruins & Celtics occasionally making some noise as they did last season. Yes the NFL is more exciting but MLB has some incredible athletes as well even though in this day in age, most athletes in every pro sport are soft compared their predecessors. Either way baseball can still be very entertaining to watch even though the season has way too many games forcing the playoffs/WS way into deep fall. Playball!!
RANGERS are tied for first place in all of MLB ! Way to go! I needed to say that while I could........
baseball is way to boring for me to watch. it seems like theres 1 minute in between each pitch, yawn. The only fun part is when the batter gets hit by the pitch and the batter charges the pitcher. now thats good baseball.

the only time I go to a game is when my bowling league gives us tickets free once a year. the bowling league says its a reward but in I see it as a punishment.

the only time I go to a game is when my bowling league gives us tickets free once a year. the bowling league says its a reward but in I see it as a punishment.
not to bust nuts Matt but........bowling?.....you even gotta admit....that's super boring & I'd rather get my teeth drilled than watch that......many, many beers might get me to join a league though.
mudwrestling............yeah! come to think of it.....I've never done it, just watched.
Well my youngest boy is a huge Yankee fan. So i was forced to watch the game last night. But i fell asleep in the second inning. LOL got out of that!!! Looked like a good game, from what i see on espn this morning. Just to slow to watch.
Baseball is wrong. A man with 4 balls cannot walk.

I've been to a few games with the boss and the club houses are a sight to behold. I really prefer the minor league games around here for something to go to though, cheap, interactive and FUN!! KMOX..... The Cardinals flagship for decades and a new station comes in gets the Cards, Rams and Blues all in one fell swoop! Their first year, the Cards win it all, pretty funny watching the Mighty Mox go down!!!

10-4..........Around here.......go see the Fort worth Cats games! those are a blast!

Hey Jim. i have a couple of the rookie of the year bobble heads that are from donruss I have the Pujols and the ichiro. used to be into the baseball card game pretty heavy. Still have some nice stuff, Cool collectables ya have there.

Mike
When I watch baseball, I have to do something else. I can't sit there for a whole game just watching. I am usually doing Ebay or reading this board and I will look up when something interesting is happening. I also like to tape shows on my VCR (yes, I know, I'm a dinosaur) and I will watch both items at the same time, switching back and forth. I fast-forward the commercials on the tape .

So people that don't watch it cause it's boring, get a book and read it and look up only during the action. Or fold some laundry, dust your cars, etc, etc. I'm sure that you can find an activity to do while you watch.

maribell

p.s. TiVo... Does anyone know if I can watch a show recorded on tivo, pause it, and switch to live tv , watch live tv for a few minutes and then switch back to tivo without losing my place? This is what is holding me up from switching to tivo. (Email me because I don't want to hijack this thread..)
baseball.........yawn
All this love for Pujols and the Cards is great, but the games are too long. Bob Gibson could pitch a double header or even three games in the time it takes the Yanks and Red Sox to play today. I heard their latest series averaged 3 hours and 45 mintes or so per game---TB---PS---Ooops, I thought I was posting to the already existing baseball thread. If someone can move this over there, then by all means, do so. Thanks.
Until then........When you have 5 pitching changes, the game is going to be long. Baseball complains about the lengths but what are they going to do about it?

Yes, in the "old" days, 20 complete games for a pitcher wasn't out of the ordinary. Now a guy get $15 million to go 5 innings every 5th or 6th day.
Not sure what baseball will do but the umps are already doing something about it by refusing to call time outs for Jeter and others in the series I mentioned above. Better scratch that itch, Derek, here comes another!---TB
Yeah well, that's going to cut 5 minutes.

Also.....the best games to attend are the ones not on national television. I always hate everyone standing around waiting for the last commercial to end so they can resume.
