Christmas 1967
I've been looking for the bike I got for Christmas in what I'm pretty sure was 1967. (in 68 I got the Hot Wheels twin super charger track set). I've looked for over 10 years for this bike.
A week ago I saw this on Craigslist about 200 miles away. Actually only about 20 minutes or so from where the old picture was taken.

I'll try and find the seat like above and I did put the tall sissy bar on mine so I'll leave that.

Nope. I had pretty much worn mine out by the time I was done with it. Wheelies, jumping ramps etc took it's toll. LOL

Very cool to find your old love! It is in great condition after so many years... wow..
I had a purple Western Auto Buzz (?) bike similar to yours in 1968. Later I added the long hangman (sissy) bar and also I ordered a 4 feet long chromed chopper fork from Sears & ditched the orig fork with that... added a working headlamp in the fork. I thought I had the coolest bike in the block.. lol

I too had a purple Wester Flyer(???) from Western Auto that mom and dad surprised me with after they went to Reno and won quite a bit of money. All us kids got a bike when they returned home, it was great!! I found a website on the Western Flyers but couldn't find my bike and sent an email to the site owner about it.
Love the old pics too Perry!! Congrats on your find! post some more old pics, they're great!

Awesome find...I did the same and actually found New England Bike Museum, http://www.nemusclebikes.com/. Jim Barnard, who owns it is really cool, told him about my bike and he found me one that was MINT!!! This is only the second one I have ever seen...killer! I got mine for my birthday...1971 when I turned 8, remember it like yesterday! The frame was made out of aluminum, very lite and fast, course it had the impressive 'Drag Brake" as well.

Yeah cool bike. I found that site many years ago. Super impressive collection though I never saw my bike on it.
