I picked up this car a while ago. The back story is that it was in an attic since the 70's. It looks correct and has blue glass. Any thoughts?

I'm no expert but it sure looks like appropriate wear all around.....looks legit from here.

Here a pic of the proto for you to compare with yours. The one you have does not have the proper top.

Rick
Bruce Pascal has one on his site (proto) that has the same top as the top one ....

Looks that way doesn`t it,clear as day it`s a regular top easy to swap out that one.....not sure what your issue is,and don`t really care.
Rick
Issue ? - who says I have an issue ? I don't know squat about proto-types (don't care either, really), but I remembered Bruce had a similar one on his site listed as a proto-type that was similar to the OP's car, and I just "assumed" Bruce must know his stuff !
Clear as day ? - Not in my all unknowing world !
Mark.
Not an expert by any means but I've seen pics of Mr Jone's, looks like Rick's. Cool Paddy wagon though!
Chuck.
Thanks for the input. I went to HWProtos.com and that site has three different prototype Paddy Wagons with different tops including a top that resembles the one installed on my PW. Is it possible that the top is in fact correct? Is there any question on the rest of the car other than the top? Thanks again.

As Rick said, the top is not a matching proto top,but IMHO, that doesn't discount the possibility this car is a legit light blue Paddy Wagon.
It appears legit to me,but I don't know enough about them to give a full review.
Best if you post this question up on Redliners Unite,to get more members viewing your car.

The car looks legit, but the top is not a proto top.
I've got one that looks like Rick's picture, and an enamel with a proto top.
Still need an orange one!!!

Yeah..this is like the dungeon...you'll have more opinions up top....
The light blue prototype Paddy Wagon is a prototype version of the car, and several different tops exist and some have been found with regular tops. Since the tops come off easily, anyone can switch a top at anytime. So the correct definition is assuming the Paddy wagon is legit is Prototype Paddy Wagon with production top!
Bruce Pascal
From the responses I have received it seems that the Paddy Wagon itself is a prototype. The top is a regular production top, and just because it has a production top it is not "incorrect" to have this varient for this prototype?
