Re: OMG - MY wish came true - 1:1 1970 Olds 442 all matching numbers
Congrat's... maybe you can find some redlines for it. I'd say a 'Vette was a fair sacrifice.
-
Re: OMG - MY wish came true - 1:1 1970 Olds 442 all matching numbers
Johnny don't paint it to match the pink one, because then everyone will know you can't think straight ;) just kidding my friend that's a nice one are you gonna bring it to the convention?

Re: OMG - MY wish came true - 1:1 1970 Olds 442 all matching numbers
Congratulations on the 442. Looks sweet. It took me 8 years to find my dream car. A 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge.

Sure ...Come to CA and we'll cruise...I was cruising 40 mph and put the pedal to the metal and she lighted both rear tires for 1/2 a block till I let off in a perfectly straight line...I guess she has posi - traction.
My gosh I can't think !

Re: OMG - MY wish came true - 1:1 1970 Olds 442 all matching numbers

Hey Frank,
I dropped the 442 off at my mechanic today.
It needs an electric fan , rear coil springs and shocks as well as a new header gasket.
My mechanic said he will try to have it ready for the weekend.
I will drive over there tomorrow and snap some pics of the 455 engine.
Robert,
I won't be driving it to the convention because she has no AC LOL!
TO all that have posted I want to express my appreciation.
Many of you that know me have always known that I have wanted one since I sold my 1969 Olds W30
convertible and that I have longed for a 442 for over two decades.
This is my third Olds as I also owned a 1966 442.
I was actually thinking that I would never own another one.
This car literally fell in my lap today.
My vette Mechanic was the sellers mechanic and the owner of the 442 wanted a Vette roadster...so my mechanic hooked us up and the dealing went great!
I had to drop some bones to make up the difference but I am stoked.
More pics to come.

Re: OMG - MY wish came true - 1:1 1970 Olds 442 all matching numbers
Hey thanks guys.
Just a little trivia...when the first 442 came out 442 designated:
4 barrel - 4 speed - dual exhaust
not the cubic inch displacement of the engine.

Re: OMG - MY wish came true - 1:1 1970 Olds 442 all matching numbers
Congratulations Johnnny!!! I know that you have been looking for the right Olds 442 to come along and that beauty surely fits the bill.
As awesome and killer as it is, I have only one question.
Where are the Redlines on the tires? I think I may have a set of 60 series with Redlines lying in the back of my garage.
I will check the size and call you tonight.
LOL!

Awesome find Homie! I know you always wanted another. Great trade off for the Vette. You should cruise it up here for Cruise Nite on Friday, then continue on to Reno for Hot August Nights.

Scott,
Thanks and good lookin out bud.
I ordered the trim piece , fan blade , fan clutch and fan shroud this afternoon from Year One to replace the Flex-a-lite electronic fans installed by the previous owner.
One of the radiator fans seized and is causing the car to overheat.
I appreciate the thoghtfullness...as always!
