We had always refused to add yet another "couch-potato" type distraction for the kids as they already spend enough time in front of the computer screen, Gameboys, etc...<br><br>Until Wii. After seeing some demonstrations, we figured that at least this would get them off their butts and moving. We've all had a ball with this thing. We've had people call the day after bowling or tennis or any of the other myriad of games and let us know just how sore they were. <br><br>It's not limited to the physical action type games either. Over the summer, Blockbuster had a monthly "game deal" where you could rent as many games as you wanted. We tried a bunch of them and each daughter had a favorite. I really like a couple of the flight programs.<br><br>Wanna have fun? Get your mother-in-law into a sword fight while playing Pirates of the Caribbean or watch her box using the basic "sports" disc that comes with the Wii...<br><br>We haven't been disappointed at all with the Wii. What you see in the commercials is pretty much what you get.<br><br>Doug<br>

That said my 7 yr old got a PS3 for his birthday. One of the games that came with it, Oblivion, had me playing it for 2 or 3 hours at a clip, 2 or 3 days a week for about a month. I have an N64 with Mario Kart 64 (one of the best racing games ever) Super Smash Brothers (the best fighting game ever) and Mario Party (a great game).<br><br>I also have an Xbox with NASCAR '03, Test drive: Eve of Destruction (great demolition derby game) and Flatout (ridiculous games where you eject the driver through the windshield at various games, hig jump, darts, etc). I'm not the biggest gamer though, I don't have Live or anything.
I'm still living in the past too....have the original Nintendo NES 8-bit, Super NES, and Nintendo. One of my sisters came across it in Mom's garage a couple years ago. PS2 and XBox360. Just rented the game "Bioshock" for 360<br>great graphics,storyline and action! Have been playing video<br>games since 1980 when the arcades were popular and<br>"Dragon's Lair" was condidered hi tech!<br><br> K-dog

<p>I have a PS2, and I like Gran Turismo 3 & 4 for (car racing) also Tourist Trophy for (motorcycle racing) I also have some offroad racing games that areok.</p>
