"OOHHHH strangers. From the outside!" TOY STORY 2!

Some of you may remember last winter I did a Toy Story custom, now like the series, the sequel must be made. As of tomorrow morning, I will be starting the Toy Story 2 custom set. I should have pretty much most of what I need to do this, some stuff left over from the last time, so keep checking back!

I had a mishap with a food disposal, but here is what I got done today!

First, find a junked up old truck..preferably a Bronco...success!

The chassis has a good portion done, wheels are done, interior is stripped and primed, and the canopy and windows have been restored and painted.

I have not been able to progress much because my paint stripper expired and was not stripping car much at all. So I bought some fresh stuff and now it is about ready to be primed. Here is the interior now:

Tomorrow, I will be doing a little...rusting of that nice new paint. I will also be doing the window trim, tail lights, and other general details. I've already cut the windows for my purpose. So I will also be adding our favorite little martians soon.

It is, but Hot Wheels dosen't have one. So I went for the next look-a-like.

Sorry, the Holidays came, I was gone, and I got tired of being in a cramped up space. I've repaired many items on my table so now I have space to continue my work. Actually, the truck was a Toyota Hilux.

I'm in a dilema. Do I buy another Buzz Lightyear figure for $6 shipped, for $20 shipped I get a whole new Toy Story 2 pack with the whitewall cruiser? Suggestions? On on hand, I get the figure I need and I can drill the regular cruiser. Or I can buy the pack and save some time but not replacing the wheels. WHICH WOULD YOU DO?

I wish I knew of that casting BEFORE I got in this far. I'll consider it, but I have to keep my time in mind. I need to have this done and the other custom I'm working done as well by the first weekend of next month for our local Hot Wheels show. I got all the major stuff out of the way over Christmas so I was able to focus on classes, starting tomorrow. So now that I'm down to details, its awful hard to buy another car, strip it, drill it, start all over again. I'll consider it, but I'll see if time allows. What was the name of that casting? If I choose to go this route, I'd rather find one in a little worse shape...hate to drill such a pristine model!

Here I am building the bed and testing various methods. I finally went with a thin plastic sheet underneath with bondo on top of it to smooth it out a little but not too much! The interior will be masked off while the bed will be primed and pinted to match the truck. Complete with the rust, dents, dings, tool box, and Pizza Planet garbage.

Now for Buzz. Poor guy, didn't think I'd have to cut him up THIS BAD! I have also saved some milk jug caps for other characters. The plastic is thin and easy to cut, yet a bit stronger than the stuff I usually use. Now, this is what it is set up as now:
