Finished up the Challenger project First place trophy, first time out
We are finishing up this project which has been on a back burner for a few years now but I thought you guys might enjoy some pics of it. 1970 Challenger convertible that we stuffed a Viper V10 with a 6 speed Tremec trans in. 550 horse with a 250 HP nitrous kit just in case. Enjoy.Jeff

Re: Finishing up another Challenger project
Pretty car Jeff, just not feeling the wheels though, so tell me how does it drive?
-
Re: Finishing up another Challenger project
We set the motor back 8" so its nicely balanced without the weight over the nose and it has our coil over front suspension with power rack and pinion steering. Drives nice but I haven't put many miles on it yet. It has to be at a show on the 3rd of June so I will put a few (FUN) miles on it before then. As for the wheels Robert, this project was started several years ago when these were in style.

I wouldn't mind having it. So I take it the firewall has been cut

Re: Finishing up another Challenger project
very nice
it is no small feat stuffing a v10 in an e body
did you guys use a custom made k member or just modify the stock one ??
i need more info LOL
well done regardless

Hey Randy, one of our main mail order products is a tubular Chrome moly K member with rack and pinion steering, tubular control arms and coil over shocks (which is going on my Road Runner as soon as it comes back from paint). We made a few modifications to our E-body piece and squeezed the motor on in. Without the torsion bars its a pretty nice fit. Check out our stuff at magnumforce.com.

Re: Finishing up another Challenger project
Nice Car Jeff!! Would the internals of that V10 hold up to a supercharger? Probably not enough room under the hood for it. Great work, nice to see it completed.

Re: Finishing up another Challenger project
Good question Jim, I don't have an answer. The internals are stock and it does have a nitrous system on it. There is room under the hood for a ProCharger though. Maybe we should give it a try.

Re: Finishing up another Challenger project
The more I see your car, the more I like it, its a GREAT combo of colors. On a side note i brought my challenger into the stealership yesterday for an oil change. The fellas just drool when it comes in. It was a super unique day there. Two of the only 2011 green with envys in the state came in for an oil change on the same date. (what are the chances?) I was told by the serviceman that there were only two in the state, and the other one is a manual and has a sunroof. Mine is auto and without sunroof... and has the mopar group options. Sounds like mine is the only one in the state... Makes me feel a little less common :) I love my car...I know its not the fastest around...there are many GT500s in our town... so I don't feel superior in the speed column, but I love the look of a challenger, and it seems eveyone else does too...everyone stares and smiles. Fun stuff!! Congrats on FIRTS PLACE!!! :)

Re: Finishing up another Challenger project
Sweet ride!!!!
You should get ahold of Paul from TTP and race him!!
I'd love to see what it would do in the 1/4 mile....

Hey Josh, not to take anything away from Paul's car but this one would leave his in the dust. We have upgraded the suspension front and rear, installed a gen2 Viper engine with a six speed manual trans and set the engine back 8" in the chassis. This car is fast and handles like a go cart.
