Any baseball fans out there?
As I get ready to head out to Baltimore for game one of the ALDS and hope my Orioles kick the **** out of the Yankees, I was wondering if there are any other baseball fans out there? I just received a presale offer for the ALCS, so if we make it I'll get to go a game in that series as well. I'm really glad we got another shot at the Yankees. It couldn't have played out any better. I haven't been this happy in a long time.
Go O's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
I'm a Red Sox fan and I'm obviously discusted with the last 2 years. That said I'm still a baseball fan and would love to see the O's do well. It's been a long painful time for that franchaise and what a run they have been on. Good luck!

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
Go REDS!!! Down one run. Gotta win this game

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
Reds, lost. Had every change to win this game and series.. Giants bullpen and defense was just a little bit better.

Right now #$%& the Nats. GO O's. Actually if the O's get knocked out, then I'll take the Nats, Their AA team is about 10 minutes from the house and I'l seen every guy they've brought up through their system play in Harrisburg.

Very cool!
I love the spunkiness that Bryce Harper plays with. Jason Werth has been a fave since he was with the Dodgers. I have also admired Davey Johnson since he was a player.
Hopefully they will go to the series and win it all!

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
Card's are a scary team at this time of year. Great lineup and pitching. Nat's and Reds are so young. But i do like the Giants and want the Tiger's. But i think the Giants and Yankees will win and go on to the World Series. Nothing more exciting than Baseball playoffs! You just never know!. Records don't mean anything, at this time of year! Who's the hottest!

Never thought I would say this but GO YANKEES!!!

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
So much for the Nats. Funny story on Bryce Harper. We went to a Senators game last year to see the fireworks on the 4th. When we take my daughter we generally don't worry about seats because she can play and I can get a good view of the game from the playground. So we get there and the place is nut, and there is nothing but standing room. I'm like what the hell hasen't anyone seen fireworks before. So I go to find out they announced Harper was getting promoted to AA that day and sold like an extra 3,000 ticket in a few hours. Go figure.
And it figures Jeter couldn't have broken his ankle at the beginning of the O's series........

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
I just love the fact that my team gets no love, and hasnt in years. Good luck on scoring a run in the next 1.5 innings Yanks.....or else we have yet another post season record written to the books for this year!
Cards, Tigz....
I want a rematch

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
I'm thinking the Cardinals will win it all this year. They just don't give up and over achieve this time of the year. I bet if you are not a fan of that team you couldn't name 5 players on the roster. They just get it done. Where's Albert???

Albert who?
Do you mean the guy who was supposed to be the last piece of the puzzle for the Angels and all he did was have a terrible year? So much for $200,000,000.00.
He should be on the bench pinch-hitting next year.

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
Goes to show you build a good team and don't need to put out for high priced free agents. The A's know all about that and the O's are learning....

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
Matt Hoilday, Carlos Beltran,Allan Graig,David Freese,Yandior Molina,John Jay,Adam Wainwright,Jason Mott,Chris Carpenter,Jamie Garica..etc. I'm a Reds Fans. Albert Batted about .280 With, i think 32 HR and 98 RBI. Not a bad year, by baseball standards.

If $20,000,000+ gets me .280, 32 hrs and 98 rbis...I'll pass.
We should win the pennant next year as we have a great team and the rookie of the year with Trout. What a star he is!
Overall...a good season for baseball with a triple crown winner...the first since Yaz in '67.

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
Detroit Tigers may just be the final straw that breaks the Yankees backs. The Yankees must go through some major changes in the lineup and management. They are a complete mess of an organization and team.
Congrats to the Tigers and whoever they may play in The Series.
I tried to pick a team to root for several times during this thread but picked the loser every time. (good thing I don't gamble)
I just hope for a great game for all that are left to be played!
I just love October baseball.

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
I'm glad to see the Tigers SWEEP the Yankees, a beautiful thing!!!
Go Giants. Talk about a comeback team! Just one more game, one more...pleeeeeeeeeeeeze!
This is the only time of year I can watch baseball, even though there is so many other things to do and watch. I think it's pretty boring overall, but this time of year is pretty exciting, especially if the Giants are your team of choice!
One more game, one more game, one more game...:001_rolleyes:

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
Yay, they did it last night in fine fashion!
Should be a good World Series!
-
Re: Any baseball fans out there?
To come back, 2 series in a row and win 3 in a row! That's just a good baseball team! Let's go Giants! Should be a very good World Series! Should go 7 games. Don't forget the Tigers haven't played in 5 days. Could hurt them.
-
Re: Any baseball fans out there?
OK...I am 0 for 3 so far so this time I must take the Tigers. The pitching should stop those hot Giants bats, I hope...
And being a Dodger fan, we can never root for the Giants ever since the Roseboro incident.
Go Tigers!

It's amazing how good they are playing and how the breaks just happen to be going with them too.
It'll be a short series if things don't change...
-
Re: Any baseball fans out there?
Is should be different once they play in Detroit, but I hope not!!

Hopefully it will change cause 4 games isn't enough...maybe the home crowd influence may change things up.
We shall see...

Re: Any baseball fans out there?
3-0 and the pitching is amazing.
Would rather see 12-8 score tho'
-
Re: Any baseball fans out there?
get out the broom, time for a sweep...Giants win even with a couple bad umpire calls...
Never did I think this series would be like this!!
-
Re: Any baseball fans out there?
I thought the 5 days off would hurt Detriot. But not this bad. Good pitching and no offense.
-
Re: Any baseball fans out there?
sweep...wow...
Who would have thunk??
