RLOL/CFR/TCE Poker: 9:00pm Nightly
BUMP!!!
C'mon......Get in folks!!!
9:00pm Eastern, 6:00pm Pacific,...and zones in between...
Hey folks, I've been thinking about this for a few months now. After yakin' with Mike (Porto) about it, he said that sounds like good idea, so I thought I'd run it past you guys,...but in particular, Anita and Sid.I put some pics and vids here in Unite to get maximum exposure, one of which is a redline pic for legal purposes. I'm not a gambler, and have NEVER sent ANY money to poker websites, as you need to supply them with your social insurance/security number for tax purposes...which in my mind is a BIG no-no, for several reasons including hackers or bad apples within PS getting their hands on your personal info. I DO though enter the free (freeroll) games where you can win REAL money,...then use that to enter real money games. As I mentioned to Mike,...I've turned as little as .15c wins into fairly big money, like $50+, then entered games with entries of as high as $11 where you can win serious money in the thousands, which,...I've never won. It's tough to win big and is not for the faint of heart,...but it IS alot of fun! This is how it might go if agreeable...Say 200 folks wanted to play. We could set up a tournament on PokerStars.net (.net being legal for Americans to play, as your IRS, FBI, and other Government forces have shut down internet gambling for US residents ONLY,...on PokerStars.com) where entrants would send say $1 per play to a pre-designated PayPal account where the pool of money would buy 1 or 2 or 3 reds to be awarded to the top 3, or however many winning places would be allotted for wins.***Play Money games are available on PokerStars.NET......which would be the ones to use for this purpose.Several hundred dollars would buy some nice reds from members either in blister or loose to be awarded.I'm thinking because it's not gambling BIG money, but rather for a toy car or two, it would be fine.I know private tournaments can be set up there. We could have a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly game on a Saturday night or something like that, which I think would be great fun, and someone can sell a few cars, and a few folks could win some, making everybody happy all the way round.Let's get some feedback on this and see if it's feasable. In the meantime, check out these vids if you've never been there before.Found here: http://www.chickluus-fabulous-redlin...ita-?page=last I've invited a very SPECIAL guest to narrate the very short vids (30 seconds kinda thing)......pay attention to the vid where the guest warns about distractions at the table...! lol... :DAlso,...I was playing at a table one night, and to my surprise, Conan O'Brian was there playing too...lol....:D (2nd pic)pics first,...then 3 short vids...PLAY VIDS on FULL SCREEN...<EMBED height=1 width=600 html height< <EMBED>

Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
I would be in on that idea.
Only problem I see is certain Canadian banks wont allow online gambling. I know my bank won't allow it and I have tried afew different Poker websites because Im not signing up to a new bank just so I can play the odd cash game.
Matt

Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
You wouldn't need to have a real money account. A play money account. The real $$ would taken care of outside of the poker site in order to purchase the redline prizes. That is how I read it anyhow.

Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
Hey Matt,....we would use the 'Play Money' games on Pokerstars.net,...and NOT the 'Real Money' games on PokersStars.com. There is a BIG difference.
You are right about banks not willing to transfer cash to gambling websites. PayPal will not either. I'm thinking that some people, and Americans in particular, see this as an infringement upon their personal rights and freedom as they don't need 'Nannys' overseeing what they do with their own money.
Now here's the funny part of the whole thing...:
The owners of PokerStars and other such sites all got hauled into some higher court in the U.S. charged with fraud or some similar types of charges, racketering or the like, because like the Mob or outlaw 1% biker gangs, they were using 'Front' businesses to circumvent these 'Grey Area' laws.
What they were doing was setting up phoney non-existant companies such as 'Bill's Bicycle Shop' or 'Grandma's Flower Shop' for example in order to facilitate money transfers from banks and the such. Unbeknownst to the banks, they would transfer money for clients totally unaware of where the money was REALLY going. This was all uncovered by the FBI and the IRS. Subsequently, the feds TOTALLY shut down access to internet gambling for real money to Americans. I believe Americans can still access the 'Play Money' games on such sites, but NOT games involving REAL money.
And not unlike Wall Street financial institutions, it's just another example of poor or no regulation of monetary institutions within the U.S. which was leading to personal disaster for MANY individuals. People were ruining themselves gambling away all their assets leading to finanacial disaster, family destruction and even suicide when they realized they were ruined.
I believe the Feds down there are working on regulating on-line gambling and in the future will open it all up to Americans once again.
Some of these site owners, such as this Scheinberg guy who owns PokerStars, actually were raking in as much as 1 million dollars per 'DAY' profit from all this!
Sid my man,....YOU are in the wrong business....! :D
Some may see all these 'Front Businesses' as nothing more than just a way to serve the almighty customer and that the evil government should stay OUT of their personal business! lol...

Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
Terry, You are correct! No gambling for REAL money. Folks would send whatever the entry fee, $1, $2 to PayPal. It would then be used to purchase a few reds from members here to be used as prizes.
The number of prizes handed out would depend on the number of entrants and the amount of the entry fee.
For example, if 200 people went in at say $1, the $200 would break down like this:
1st Prize: a $100 redline
2nd Prize: a $60 redline
3rd Prize: a $40 redline
Now, PokerStars would require a fee for the use of their site. I don't know how much that would be, but I would contact them to find out.
Say they want $50 per... It would break down like this:
250 people go in at $1 per game = $250
$50 fee to PokerStars,....then the prize payouts of:
1st Prize: a $100 redline
2nd Prize: a $60 redline
3rd Prize: a $40 redline
Say we made it $3 per entry for 250 entrants. That would be $750.
PokerStars fee: $50
1st Prize: a $300 redline
2nd Prize: a $200 redline
3rd Prize: a $100 redline
4th Prize: a $60 redline
5th Prize: a $40 redline
or something of the like to be determined...
We would just be using their site and Poker Program...
You wouldn't need to have a real money account. A play money account. The real $$ would taken care of outside of the poker site in order to purchase the redline prizes. That is how I read it anyhow.
Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
We're half way there.... Play money games are open to Americans. Here's the response:

Hello Andy,
Thank you for your email. We appreciate your concern.
In regard US players, we regret that in light of recent developments, PokerStars is no longer offering real money play to US residents, or residents of US territories in any form (Private Games or Home Games).
We apologize for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your understanding.
In this case, it would be only play money games. Either private games or Home Games.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate contacting us again.

Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
I made these 3 vids to show folks what the deal looks like if they've never been on PokerStars. I invited Arnold Schwartzennegger because he's been in the news a lot lately (imitation) to narate the Vids (he was the SPECIAL guest mentioned above). Subsequently, Anita thinks I'm a 'Weird Dude'....lol....
Here's the link. It takes you to PhotoBucket to #3. Once you view that, then go to Previous and check #2...and then again to #1 where Arnold is warning you about a player at that table....
Click on where Anita asks WTF

Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
Any chance there could be games for loose and BP prizes? Id be willing to throw down a little more to go after some blisters. Unfortunately not a loose collector, but I do love to play poker. Funny, I played(and won) on absolute poker.net about 6 months before the crackdown. I have to say it was nice to get checks in the mail for playing games at home!!lol

Hey Jim...(hey...I'm part Polski Ogorki Too!....lol...)
YES! It is cool to win cash!!!
I say we play for reds!
When more that 5 people hook up, a leaderboard automatically is created! I can make it a monthly, quarterly, or yearly thing.
If everybody paid $1 or $2 per game....the cash would accumulate in any given period, and the top 20% of players would get a payoff. They would *have* to buy reds from other board members from rlol, cfr, or tce. I think THAT is only fair!
Feedback on that idea folks!!!

Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
Perhaps adding another 10% (small in relation to the game ante) that would go to a leaderboard kitty. This could be a "large quartly prize", and say you would have to participate a certain % of the time to become eligible for it. That could bring up some pretty awesome stuff:-)
-
Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
Send me your email addy and I'll hook you right up! Follow the instructions in the email you get and you're in.
And yes...I agree with your idea. Although, I figure anyone can play and chip in a buck or so, but if ya want to win cars....you gitta keep up playing to stay on or climb the leaderboard.
We played a few test game the last 2 nights. I got hammered the first night,....but then destroyed the boys last night! hehe!!!
So fa I'd be on TOP of the leaderboard and would be eligible for a $4 red....LOL!!!!!!!! Yes,...four dollars!

Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
Although the game is set up to be played nightly for now...that will have to change once we arrive at a plan. Playing EVERY night would be TOO much for most and NOT fair to those who want in but can't waste their life playing Poker EVERY night! lol...
We would have to arrive at say a night or 2 per week where you must play to keep up and win. Someone suggested they're available on Tues and Thurs night or something like that.
We could play say 2 or 3 games per week..Maybe every Tues and Saturday nights... or every Thurs and Sat nights or what ever.
It would have to be THE night...or the TWO nights when the MAJORITY of folks are available! To be FAIR!!!
I play poker EVERY night on line. I'm on what's called the BankrollMob Leaderboard. Free to get in... Top 200 get a ticket to a $1500.00 game,...TOP 30 of those get CASH (ranging from $35 to $200 I think it is) in addition to a ticket to the $1500 game. I'm currently in 40th position on that board. 10 more places...I'm in the cash. Was in 33rd until the other day! I have until Oct 31st to climb. I can do it no problemo!!!!....??? hehe (in poker,...NEVER count your chickens until they are HATCHED :D)
40th out of 447,000 players! NOT too shabby!!!
-
Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
***NOTE: If a game starts and everyone gets eliminated really fast, I will start another game for about 15 minutes later for fun. So remember to keep an eye out for that,....BUT,...if it IS a leaderboard game for reds,...then THAT initial game for the day will be the ONLY game played for 'that day' concerning reds. Any other new games within the same day will NOT count towards a prize leaderboard! :D
-
Re: RLOL/CFR Poker League...? Huh...?
Okay gents....got a few more hooked up. Again,...if anyone has any problems,...or hasn't heard back after messaging me, hang in there, I'll get to you.
Played a few games with the boys,....+ my regular games. It is CRAZY playing a few games at once, Plus chatting on the table, + checking back here to reply.
It's tough to get to you after the game starts. Anytime up 'till about 1/2 before the start is no problem,...after that.......things get REALLY mad...! :D
If I've not gotten back to you,...message me again! :D
