New project & a small rant

for the last couple o months ive been doing this 56 caddy for my mate <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad1.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad3.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad6.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad8.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad10.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad13.jpg" alt="image"> was 90% painted a couple weeks back but the yella roof wasnt to my mates taste, as it dont match the B&W interior with yella roof <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad14.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad18.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad17.jpg" alt="image"> so now its got a white roof again <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad21.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad22.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad23.jpg" alt="image"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v197/421gto/pontiac/caddy/cad24.jpg" alt="image"> Ive now been waiting 8 weeks for all the stainless mouldings to come back from being polished & the rest of the brightwork to come back from the chromers,was promised a 4 week turnaround !! - do you guys have the same problems over there ? the only other good local chromers ruined a piece of trim on one of my fathers cars so we dont use them either, how bleedin hard is it to find a decent chromer...... ah well, whats another 4 week wait............ if you read this far - cheers si

Damm, How do you get your parts over there anyway? Ebay? That car is gonna be sweet. The chromes gotta set you back quite a bit for that baby! As for good chromers, there are none in NY because of all the.. <img height="640" alt="image" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v101/chevy57/Mvc-006s-1.jpg" width="480"> So we have to ship down south or go to Jerzy <img alt="image" src="http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/embarassed.gif"> Plese keep us posted on her. small update

a small but highly dissapointing update of sorts well this thing is really getting on my nerves now, its been 6 weeks since i posted and guess what............. still no chrome................had a few smallpieces of stainless return but not the major parts im desperate for. bet your chromers dont take this long though do they ? think it woulda been quicker to ship it over to the US to get it done......... they come out with too many excuses and this really aint the way to run a business, while its sitting around in bits its using up all the space i have so icant get on with any other jobsbut, on the bright side, the seats and carpet are fitted, and all the painting is now finished ah well only 6 weeks till the new year...lol cheers si

There's a really good plater in Kitchener Ontario Canada called Kuntz Electroplating. They've got a good name and contracts for the big automakers andwheelmakers. They also do small job custom work and have been there since the beginning of time. Great Project! Good chrome shops are hard to find. I have one here in So Calif I use for motorcycle restos. Lemon Grove Plating in San Diego. Good, butexpensive! Turn around is a few weeks.

Tim, that Caddy rocks! Si, sorry to hear of your problems but your work still looks great. Hope you get the parts back soon. Steve
