need a cheap verizon cell phone for the 8 year old for emergency use

dont want to spend alot since he likes to wash them in his pockets LOL

Make sure you check with verizon before you buy a used cell phone, if it doesn't have a feature that lets 911 trace your position, they won't reprogramit for a new owner...Michael

Verizon used to have a cell that was designed for kids with limited calling and you could add it to your plan a few years back. Call them directly and ask ifthey still have it.

This the best way to save money, I think: Go to Target or wherever, and buy a 'go phone' for about $25. Swap out the sim card with the phone that hecurrently has (located beneath the battery) and the verizon plan that is associated with the first phone will then work on the new phone. I've done thismany times (I drop my phone alot) with my AT&T (the Death Star) plan without a problem. EDIT: the go phone MUST be verizon compatible; there will be a tagor sign above the hanger specifying which company that specific go phone works with.
