Default been working on the hot rod a little

been working on my 38 ford pickup

had to redo the front suspension ---previous owner had it all goofy
the car would barely turn so i had to redo everything
just setting ride height and getting things tacked in place
i am doing a suicide suspension on it
going for a bonneville sort of feel
moved the front end 12 inches forward and lowered it a bit

then i started doing some metal work
previous owner used a ball peen hammer to get this knocked out

    getting a little better

    and even better

    couple more hours

    busted out the oldsmobile also
lowered the back another inch or so to level it out
    think it looks alot better

    lemme know what ya think

Hi Randy, I love your 38 pickup, typical rat rod. I have a 56 Chevy pickup that I really need to work on but time and money are scarce! Finally got a mig welder I can use (120v) but would need to bring the truck to the back of my house to fix the door hinge and patch panels in the rear corners of the cab - limited voltage in the barn. Also need seat belts and to rewire the lights to make it street legal. I haven't had it run in about 4 years so I'm worried the motor might be locked - How long can an engine sit before it locks up??

Cool Rod Randy, its gonna look awesome with the front stretched out. BTW, your Olds looks killer with that stance, love it!

    Thanks for sharing the pics!

I like the suicide front end, and great work on the dent removal. I would like to see a picture od the bike in the background, the rolling chassis

    thanks for the comments guys
i have a vision for the pickup it is slowly coming along
i picked up a running 49 ford flathead for it
i always loved the socal speed shops 34 coupe one of the most iconic bonneville cars ever
and i love pickups when i found this project truck i had to have it LOL
the 38 is perfect for what i want to build trying to replicate that era's look

the roller cycle in the back is my hardtail sportster should be getting the engine back together soon

Randy, I for one have always liked sportsters, for the bang for the buck you can't hardly beat them.
