It's very good, as is Kirk's Chris Pine; I'm sure we'll be seeing more of that a-nobody-until-Friday real soon. What I didn't like aboutthe movie is the same thing I never liked about the other movies/shows: The baddie aliens are one warp-speed away from silly. Surly, tattooed thugs roaringaround the galaxy are not scary. But, a divergence from such stuff would have doomed 'Star Trek's' rhetoric and broad connections with the Trekroots. See it for the backstory, slobbering red ice-planet monster and great but smartly-brief wrangle on the Romulan space-drill. And the Abram-isms abound,for those of you familiar with his handiwork (listen closely for the 'Slusho' reference during the bar scene). What comes to mind now is T4 IN TWOWEEKS!
