As many of you know ( or do not know ) I am a Live TV Host for a Gemstone and Jewelry Shopping Channel. Well, the other day, I was working with one ofour site holders who deals with Opals from Australia. Now, if you don't know much about Opals, there are different types and names for certain colors.Well, in starting out, we decided to put an assorted group together and give a brief description of what we had before we even showed it on camera. Here is thebanter that went back and forth before we kind of realized what road we were kind of heading down:

"Now ladies and gentlemen, next up we put together an assortment for you. We have grouped together a few white, several blacks, and a bunch of Mexicans. Now, when you see these, the whites will be on top, the blacks on the bottom and the Mexicans scattered throughout. Now of all these, the Mexicans will be thecheapest, while some of the whites will be at a high price point. The blacks, depending on which one will be at different levels. "

It was about this time, phone calls start to come in...LOL

Now, to clear this up. Opals can be classified as:

White Crystal Opal
Black Opal
Mexican Fire Opal
