Default Help me make a decision on a 1:1 ** DECISION MADE** PICS

    Hello fellas,

I've been pondering buying a 1:1. My brother had a 73 charger and a 74' challenger back in the 80s that I drove a lot, and really liked them. He got the challenger for his high school graduation drove it for about 4 years... He let me drive it a lot, but he bought a 73' charger right before my graduation. Both were the matalic green colors. Both had 318s in them I believe. Both were in awesome shape when we left them to my dad in the mid 90's There they sat for about 5 years...then there was a lurker that would come every year for about 8 years he came and asked if he would sell. Then finally about 5 years ago he sold them... CHEAP. My brother told Dad not to sell them, but he did anyway...must have been the altzhiemers kicking in. They were officially his, because my brother gave them to him to pay debt he had to my Dad Anyway, can't get them back now, so I'm in the market for a challenger. I was debating a Mustang as well. A buddy of mine has a El'Grande in great original shape...I think its a 73 or 74. He got it about 12 years ago...it was sitting out in a vacant lot. No for sale sign on it, but we stopped and asked and they said yep, for sale. I think he paid 3K for it. Did some work...probably 1 to 2 K into it. replacing gas tank and fuel lines. He doesn't ever drive it today, so I'm thinking he would take about 6K for it. Its got a 302 and is a brown color. Really a pretty nice car. I don't know where these book at , but as far as being in original condition, I'd say its a 8.5 out of 10.

On another note, I've been debating on a new challenger, where my roots are. I'd do a charger, but challengers just appeal to me more. If I do it, I'm going to shoot for a new SRT. I know these won't ever be as collectable as vintage, but I want something I can run and not worry about anything breaking down. I'd also like to go to car shows. Would car shows let me show a newer ride? I'd just like to do some things with my wife...and hang out with a community of collectors/lovers of cars. I'd like to do things like bennifit type things... makes a person feel good doing it, and its fun to hang out and listen to stories.

So to you my fellows, what to do? Should I offer my buddy a decent amount for his nice vintage Elgrande? Find a nice vintage Challenger, Find a nice vintage fastback mustang? Buy a new Challenger? I'll need some sort of finance for the higher dollar cars. Can spend around 50K max. I can trade in my truck new and get around 26,000K trade in, which is pure $, as I don't owe anything on it. Its my business truck, so I'd need to find a cheap replacement. Something around 3K would do the trick. besides I don't have any room in the garage because the new ride will be in there. So, the truck will sit in the elements...just used to haul materials every now and again (3 or 4 times a year). I've debated selling most of my hotwheels collection as well. Don't know if I want to do that though. I'll always keep a select few. Market is down a lot, and don't want to take a huge hit, but with them, it was never about the money anyway.

Just seen a pearl blue SRT.....thats the color I need... LOL Would like a convertable...but don't know if they make them in a convertable.
    Thanks for any insite!

    Jimmy
