Default Anyone else here into old buildings? Some cool links

Hey everyone. Aside from redlines one of my many other interests is urban exploring and old buildings. Especially old shopping malls and retail stores from the50's and 60's. Dont know why im so fascinated with them. Maybe its the idea of finding an unopened case of redlines in one of the storage rooms, ormaybe its the fact that they are a representation of a time i love so much that i never got to experience for myself, or the cool architecture they feature.Maybe its the Irony that a place that once held so much excitement and activity now sits abandoned and silent, waiting for nature to overrun it and reclaim it.Anyway heres some cool links that contain vintage photos of shopping malls and retail stores as well as new photos of abandoned ones.

    dead malls
    malls of america

The malls of America site is very cool. They have an unbelievable archive section with some very cool vintage photographs.

I also enjoy exploring old sites and buldings. One of my favorites was Asbury Park, N.J. on the Jersy shore. The place was (still is ) kind of a ghost townfor a long time. They are starting to build so it looks like it my come back this time. Here's some pics I took in 2003.

These were inside the Casino Skating Palace, built in the 20's or 30's. It was demolished this year.

These were inside The Palace, an amusement arcade. The original building was built in the late 1890's and added on during the years.
This building was demolished in 2004.

The Asbury Park boardwalk was in the same decaying condition as the buildings, a cool place to explore. image George
