    "I really do, appreciate,
    The fact you're sittin' here
    Your voice sounds so wonderful,
But your face don't look too clear
    So barmaid, bring a pitcher,
    Another round of brew,
Honey why don't we get drunk..."

Definitely not. Buffet has a huge following in Cincinnati, where I just moved from. He would routinely sell out 3 nights in a row at Riverbend, an outdoorvenue. It's just not my thing - too many drunken slobs acting foolish while trolling for.....well, you know what. Somewhere in the middle of all that is aconcert featuring mediocre music that caters to a 40 year-old crowd that is operating under the pretense that 20 year-old women find them hot, spare tires andall. Any excuse to party ya know.

WOW, three nights in a row, those were the good old days!!! I was at the Riverbend show this past summer, it was our first time to that one. And yes, fortwo days I was one of those drunken 37 year old slob, but the music was much better than mediocre, I've been going to his show for almost 14 years, haveevery one of his albums on CD, half of them on vinyl and one on 8-track . Bad thing is that I don't have a spare tire and I prefer the 30 year olds, asthey at times do seem to find me slightly hot! Oh, one more thing it's the best damn reason on earth to throw a party!

    Fins Up!

HJ, it's "snuff queen" - old term for a +*%**%.

Steve, there are people like that at just about any concert, though one has to admit it's more common at certain venues. It was like that at a BeachGeezers show I attended in the late 80s, a Stones concert a few years before that. Hell, pretty much any 60s-80s band show is going to have the middle-agedcrazies. I go to enjoy the music and have fun and the last guy who got grabby on me missed the rest of the concert having his nose reset.

    Here are the complete lyrics:

    I really do appreciate
    The fact you're sittin' here
    Your voice sounds so wonderful
But your face don't look too clear
    So barmaid, bring a pitcher
    Another round of brew
Honey why don't we get drunk, and screw?

Why don't we get drunk, and screw?
    I just bought a waterbed
It's filled up for me and you
They say you are a snuff queen
    Honey I don't think that's true
So why don't we get drunk, and screw?

Tons of people/groups do covers of the song, but one in particular is by David Allan Coe (who also does "Jimmy Buffet doesn't live in Key Westanymore") is really good. And, like "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks, there's an alternate version of the last chorus:

Why don't we get drunk, and screw?
    I just bought a waterbed
it's filled up with Elmer's glue
Oh they say you are a snuff queen
    Honey, I don't think that's true
So honey, why don't we get drunk, and screw?

I have heard some people also say "snow queen" instead of snuff queen, which is cute and makes sense too.

What's not to love about a Buffet show. Unless your ex left you for a Parrothead, how can you not like going to one of his shows. Name me another act thatsells out an entire show in 3 minutes flat, again and again and again. Where people will travel a thousand miles just to see him @ a new venue. Where the starcomes out on stage in flip-flops, shorts and a T-shirt. Where a crowd of 30,000 people know ever single line to ever song he sings and is often louder, or forthat matter the star simply lets that crowd sing a song for him. Where everyone could be drunk and no-one is fighting, I've haven't seen a fight yetin the 9 shows I've been too. Where 75 year old granny's where hula skirts and the 18 year old kid, who'd be a stranger any other time, next to herisn't rolling his eyes @ here but rather giving her hug because at that minute has a lot in common with her. Where you can walk thru a parking lot thatopens up 8 hours before his show, when they'll only open 3 or 4 hours early for any other act on the planet. Where you can walk thru parking lot seeing allthe sights, where people even dress up their cars...be it as a tiki bar, pirate ship, shark, cheeseburger, lizard, hot tub... Where you can find hundreds ofopen buffett-buffets, and if you have a hungry look left to you, if that's possible at his shows, a complete stranger will hand you a shrimp kabob and acold beer and the next thing you know you become email buddies forever and always making sure you hook up with them @ the next show. Not everyone can affordto be a jet setter and run off to some hot, sandy place every vacation, but to do a road trip and have your own Margaritaville for a weekend is the next bestthing.
