  1. #1

Default Ford Assembly Plant In Brazil

    Interesting ....
This is a video of a new Ford plant in Brazil..

One look at this and you will be able to tell why there willprobably never be another one built in the USA ..

It will also point out why more assembly plants will gooffshore.

The company I work for built a good portion of that plant. I was asked if I was interested in going down there to work on it.
I passed. Probably should have gone.

Very efficient way to build a car. The UAW and CAW need to wake up and become more flexible.
Thanks for posting that Mark. Very interesting.

I agree. They have to allow Detroit to evolve here on US soil. If not, they cut everyone's neck.

    Mark,

What an eye opening story. Thanks for sharing image

    Interesting concept.
That couldn't happen here in North America because the Unions would bitch and moan about it, unless all the subcontractors were Union too...

I'm saying it won't happen here...

It won't be long but that will be the standard in automotive manufacturing.

Ugh, I don't see any sweat & blood in building a car in there... it's all robotics with no heart.

it seems that if you keep people out of the building equation, you take several factors away-
    human error(poor quality)
    human problems(think unions)
    no pay for robots(more profit)

yea, your product might be a tin box, but that's what people are buying these days....

Wow more lost jobs? Is that what the union does for there workers? I'm just asking because I don't know, I really don't follow union politics toomuch but I know they spend a lot of time and moeny fighting companys that are non union to try to get the staff to turn union. If they could just be flexableand spend that time and moeny on there employee's they are looking out for they would be a lot better off.

Can't have it both ways. People want better built cars/products. People want lower prices. Robots are more efficient. Make lessmistakes. Work faster. Don't take vacations or coffee breaks. Don't steal parts/components. Don't chat on the job. Can do the more tedious jobs.faster.. This is the future. More robots, more computers. That is why I keep telling me boys to study for a profession that can NOT be done by acomputer/robot. This is the future..

Now what I don't understand why can't FORD get a loan from Ford in Europe or Ford in South America. Ford is doing well elsewhere in the world.

Also, robots dont have families to feed and houses to buy so they wont be needing the dents fixed on their cars or their living roomsremodelled. They also dont hunt deer.Actually robots are not consumers at all. Thats going to mean a big change for America.---mike
