Anybody else nerd it up at 'Star Trek' over the weekend?

It's very good, as is Kirk's Chris Pine; I'm sure we'll be seeing more of that a-nobody-until-Friday real soon. What I didn't like aboutthe movie is the same thing I never liked about the other movies/shows: The baddie aliens are one warp-speed away from silly. Surly, tattooed thugs roaringaround the galaxy are not scary. But, a divergence from such stuff would have doomed 'Star Trek's' rhetoric and broad connections with the Trekroots. See it for the backstory, slobbering red ice-planet monster and great but smartly-brief wrangle on the Romulan space-drill. And the Abram-isms abound,for those of you familiar with his handiwork (listen closely for the 'Slusho' reference during the bar scene). What comes to mind now is T4 IN TWOWEEKS!

I watched it yesterday and thought it was good. I'm a die hard summer movie fan and I've been impressed with both XMen Origins and this Star Trek.Looking forward to Angels & Demons, T4, Transformers 2, Harry Potter 6, GI Joe looks kinda cool. Good stuff.

Saw it loved it!!! Lots of oldsters like me in the audience who got the original series references, great Trek history lesson grouped in with time travel,non-stop action and a sweet Vette that met it's demise over a cliff, it has it ALL!!!!

Only problem was........... My seat. I get there 40 minutes early on the first matinee on a Sunday (thinking the mother's day/church crowd would still beout) and there is this guy and his wide camped out with a 40-gallon barrel of popcorn in my sweet seats!!! CRAP!!!!!! I can't stand to be out of the deadcenter!!!! Ah well, big screen, Shoulda bucked up and made the drive into St. Louie for the the IMAX experience!

I was never a Star Trek fan, but I will see this one. Heard too many good reviews not to see it.
If I can't catch it at our local Imax, then I'll wait until the video comes out, that way I can have my dead center seat...baby...

As an adult I'm a take it or leave kind of guy when it comes to Star Trek. As campy as they were, I loved the original episodes just as much as any kidborn in the early 60's.

My wife is another story. She's just short of being hardcore. Our kids took her to see it for Mothers day. Made me pay my own way

I really enjoyed it. Simon Pegg from Shaun of the Dead playing Scotty was my favorite charactor. Lose the Muppet sidekick though. Bones was awesome as well.

Cant wait for the next one! Not every movie leaves you wanting more episodes.

A friend's shop built some sort of snowmobile for 'Joe.' Nobody outside was allowed to see it, but he just shakes his head and smiles when askedabout the thing. I think the movie looks as funny as it does great. Can't wait to see Destro...

Saw Wolverine on Saturday, will be nerding it up for Trek probably this weekend. Can't wait to see Terminator as well.
