    Default Bonneville Speed Week 2009

    image

I'm salty, filthy, burnt and as dry as a bone. I had one hour of sleep during the first forty-two hours I was there. But, a chance to head to the salt forthe weekend isn't to be missed, especially a ride with a good friend of mine who owns his own shop and has work in several of the cars there. Highs:Hannah's long-awaited streamliner and the handful of lakesters. Lows: Having to come home while the races went on. Lots of shots, so here's thephotobucket...

Ryan, that was awesome flipping through your pics. What an amazing variety of iron and engineering that come out for Bonneville. I have ALWAYS wanted to gothere and know that Andrew and I would have an incredible time taking it all in. What fun! thanks for sharing.

I like the "Old Crow" cigar speedster, the lone red Econoline truck, '53 Ford 2-dr and '34 Ford truck.
    Thanks

That lakester is one of the cars my friend helped build. The red Ford was really clean; a driver.

Wow, awesome - I love any kind of salt flat racers!! Thanks so much for posting the pics. Too many highlights to mention, but my favorite (naturally) has gotto be the little Honda 600 - HA! What kinda' speed are they getting out of that anyway - 79.3 mph? Another question that occurred to me... what kind ofengines do they use in the drop-tank cars? It's got to be something smallish, an inline motor for sure...
