It's all about marketing a product, Gene Simmons knew what he was doing back in the 1970s and through their career, now they have a song and video packagecoming only exclusively to Wal*Mart and Sams Club stores this October. Check out the link below, more advertising for the veteran rock band and other knownbands are following.

I have noticed this trend recently with various genres of music. An individual or a band will have a new album coming out, and it will only be available at WalMart, Target, etc. Good money for them, but for the consumer you can't one stop shop for music! :)

imageI saw Kiss back in the mid '80s,and they were not wearing their make-up? I always wondered what's with that! None-the-less,...they were HOT!!! I'd imagine any lyrics would have to be'squeaky clean' in order to have a contract with W*M. I'm not a fan of Green Day, but I saw them on Colbert recently and they said W*M said take afew words outta one song or no deal. Green Day walked.

That's an understatement. I heard he put a copyright on the moneybag symbol and now gets paid anytime someone uses it.

Yes, Kiss was great in 1977 with their signature make-up, saw them at the SD Sports Arena "Love Gun tour", Cheap Trick opened and no one really knewwho they were yet, they looked weird, but rocked. As for Kiss in the 80s, my wife really liked them out of make up, she's a bit younger then I am, so shedidn't get a chance to see them the original way until 1997 when Kiss came back for their reunion with all four original members with songs, make-up,theatrics, pyrotechnics, the works, man it brought me right back 20 years prior. They sounded and looked killer.

    Cheers,
    J~
