NHRA has announced that record's will be recognised at the 1,000 ft. mark. Due to input from teams in F/C and T/F, racing will be held to 1,000 ft. Sometracks just can't be improved enough to make a safe (well , relatively safe) pass at 330 mph. Give it 3-4 years max. and the guys will still be under 4sec. and over 325.
The pro classes ie top fuel, funny car, and pro stock run one thousand feet. I believe the Sportsman classes are still going the full 1320.---mike
Great tidbits! Another drag guy told me that during a run, the crank will only make 500 revolutions. yeah, it's doing 8000 RPM, but only for 5 seconds!
they are under 4 for 1000 feet
Slow cars turn left
The two nitro classes; top fuel & funny car run to 1000. Pro stock car & bikes still go 1320.
