Thread: Trouble E-mailing Comcast.net

  1. #1

    Default Trouble E-mailing Comcast.net

All of a sudden for no apparent reason, I can't send an e-mail to ANYone with a comcast.net address. It immediately gets sent to my spam folder stating....

Host comcast.net doesn't support SMTP mail delivery.

SMTP is standard e-mail protocol ! I checked with my local ISP and they tell me nothing has changed on their end. Anyone else ever experience this ?

I have customers that I need to correspond with and am now apparently cut off !!!

Or a gmail.com account. I love my gmail account. Comcast has been good lately, but about a year ago if I replied to an email, sometimes it wouldn't gothrough. No problems with gmail though...

Ok .... That's a work-around - but why did it happen in the first place ?

I meant to post this earlier. Rooster is on comcast. I imagine that is why you have not been able to contact him. I had trouble getting thru to him. I remembersomething about Comcast has some providers blocked. I am on yahoo and that was 1 of them. Think he had to go thru his ISP to get is fixed.
    Hope this info helps some.

I was finally able to get through to a Comcast Security agent today (on the phone). Apparently Comcast is VERY stringent on spammers. If one single e-mail isreported as spam, it's blocked by the Comcast server which won't allow it to contact ANY Comcast recipient.

What I discovered was that there was indeed a blocked IP coming from my end, but was not my personal IP - rather it was my sub-servers IP, meaning someonewithin my server's RANGE had been sending spam ! That being the case, ANYone within my server's IP range had been blocked from contacting ANY Comcastrecipient !

The tech guy removed the block and provided me with a link for my provider (I know the local tech guy personally) to install a program which will alert themany time Comcast blocks an IP in their range and give them the ability to trace the offending spammer.

What a hassle just to get an e-mail through !!!

Hey Larry - Good to see you back !

The problem is not with me per se (I'm NOT on comcast) .... the problem was
the fact Comcast was blocking me from reaching anyone that IS on Comcast.
