Nice car. Wasn't that Mustang II based on the Pinto? I hope not. By the way, Tomica makes a nice casting of this car. There is a variation that istan with an olive green vinyl top. I know that variation is harder to find than the silver/black one.

Whats definitely kool about the car is its originality you just cant duplicate that when you restore a vehicle. Congratulations.

I am restoring my 1975 Mustang II right now. I was and am the second owner of it. I bought it in 1977 and have had it ever since. I had to laugh at the"Worst Mustang ever" comment! I just wrote back to last Saturday's Fort worth paper where the guy that does the reviews said "that awfulMustang from the 70's" is the only blemish or something like that. It is now the rarest of Mustangs to find. You see way more Boss 302's thanthese. Yes, most of them got cut up to grab the steering and front end........"worst Mustang" ??? I guess not since they still make reproductionMustang II front ends for anybody that wants a car that handles beautifully! You see, I raced mine. I'll corner with the best of todays cars! It'sgreat! yes........the poor 302 in stock form was choked down so bad to 140hp that it wouldn't stay running with the A/C on. You see.......that's whenthe EPA stuff was just getting started. They have learned allot in the last 34 years. Once I modified the heck out of the engine, tranny, and rearend......tryto keep up! It's a screamer.
Chris is dead-on too.......it kept the Mustang alive for 5 years. The "popular" stance is to make fun of these cars but I think it's because theyjust don't know anything about them or have ever witnessed the potential that they have. come and take a ride in mine someday when I finish it and hold on!400HP in one of these is awesome.

I can tell you anything about your car..........including the engine, body, colors...etc. I have the Shop manuals, and the salesman samples book for theinterior fabrics, colors, etc. It also has the sales book for exterior colors and other 1975 Fords! You have a question about that beauty, I will answer it.

Oh yeah! Check the hose for the "extra" tank capacity tank above the main gas tank. There is a 4 gallon extra tank on top of the main one. Thehose leading from one tank to the other gets old (34 years old) and will start to leak. check it for leaks when you fill the car up.

Another thing.......it was not a form of the Pinto. This car was designed from the ground up on it's own platform. the Bobcat and the Pinto were the same.There "were" some parts that the Mustang shared with the Pinto but not many. My Stack of Shop Manuals proves it.

Tough to find anything that clean anymore. My sisters boyfriend had a 74 that was metallic brown with a 289 and a four speed. We went and did everything withthat car. He was the oldest in the bunch and the first to have a car and license. (what memories)
