Lap top recommendations....

I've been a very , very good girl and Santa Mingo(my husband) is going to be getting me a laptop. IT will be for internetsurfing while watching tv or outside. No big term papers or projects will be done on this one. I just want it to be fast. (I can be impatient at times.) What do you fine folks suggest?

Well, you know, it just so happens that I bought myself an HP last weekend (would have to look up the model #) at Best Buy for $449 with 4 gigs RAM & 64bit dual core pentium... and I'm really happy with it. Incredible value for the money in my mind. Very quick for internet surfing. The only drawbacks arebattery (only 2.5 hrs - not a big deal for me) and hard disc memory (I forget how much but it's less than some of the others).

Oh, and it's been only one week, but so far a big thumbs up for Windows 7.

[edit] went online and got the model # - G60-535DX but it now shows the price at $499.

Best Buy also has the Acer for $250, which if your just using it for the internet and blah blah, will do great. $250 for a lappie is el cheapo.

I bought my kid the the Acer Chris mentioned and he loves it and at $250 well worth it.

My wife just had a "custom Dell" built...like 4 months ago, it's been in the shop 2x...my 3 year Fujitsu literally smokes this Dell"Studio"...what crap. and the best thing...plan on 2 hours of hold time for questions...

Whatever you get, get an extended warranty...worth their weight in gold.

BTW, my Fujitsu has never once acted up!

I too was thinking of getting a lapper but now-a- days can't you do all the same things with the right cell phone? I mean if this is true then aren'tLap-tops already outdated?
