    Default Something fishy goin on...

Its been a while...but all is well (I think) with the fish lol.
They are hungry suckers, and are growing pretty well. Its hard to get pics of them, so here's a few I was able to snap. I wanna redo the aquarium withdifferent substrate thats not so....blue...but I'm glad I got the aquarium and stuck with it.

Those are some big fish. I guess you did go ahead and get cichlids.

Dang, sorry for the huge pics.

Yeah, I thought they would be the best bet, and its a nice variety. Once my water cycled good I've not lost a single fish (well, they got hungry while Iwas on vacation and I just noticed I'm down one) but no floaters.

I'd like to get a few more but dont want the tank to get over crowded when they grow up.

Cool Fish Adam, I have kept chiclids off and on through out the fifteen years I have had my tank. I like the colors.

Hey its finally showing the smaller pics LOL.

I need to get rid of 3 of the "less aggressive" fish, they are doing fine for now but dont think they will for much longer.

I like these alot...most of the fish I saw at the store stayed in either the top or bottom, didnt swim around much or anything else...these guys are all overthe place and make it much more lively.

Cool fish and set up Adam.
I would suggest getting a scenic background on the back of the tank to make them feel more at sea. You can also get live water plants and anchor them under thegravel or there a some that just float on top of the water. This will also help the more vulnerable fish with a place to hide. The gravel comes in a millioncolor combos as well. Some of the sand or pepper colored gravel will also make a more realistic and less blue environment if that's the angle your lookingfor.
I used to have Oscars and they are probably my favorite fish for a home tank.
    Thanks for sharing.

I had some plants and they didnt do well so I didnt give that another shot. I've thought about the background but havent found any I reallylike...it'll also help hide the cords and such.
I'll probably go with a more natural substrate when I get to that. The blue was fun to get it goin, now its time to make it look a bit nicer.
