I've never been into it much unless a particular film or actor I'm interested in is in the running. I do also find some interest in the foreign films and shorts but I can look up the nominees and get the info I need.

Given your past occupation Ryan I can certainly see why it's of interest to you.

The best part of the Oscars for me was not being let down(sarcasm), The Hurt Locker had to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen win an Oscar second only by Titanic (1997)

An imperfect list (can't please everybody) but definitely a lot of "must-see" films there. 1989-1993 seems like yesterday, yikes.
