Hmmmm. Looks like the lettering on the utility body is a bit heavy and large. I'll adjust that. I also need to tweak the tree so the trunk shows up.
Thanks,
Eric
Great job lining it all up, Scott!
Eric, is the trunk thicker on the tree in the original? The lettering looks really nice - no edge bleed and they don't have that "grid" look to them.
Really nice work, guys!
Yes, I've already adjusted both the trunk and the overall width of the central portion of the tree. I also reduced the overall size of all text on the utility body and thinned the font out a bit. That font was the closest I had and looked dead-on without being on a car, so I went into the geometry and thinned the parts of the letters one piece at a time. Better now. Next batch should show up improved.
Any time, Scott! I also realise how much love went into it. Those trucks aren't the most collectible to begin with, so spending that much time and effort on restoring one shows a true dedication to the hobby. I'm starting to like more and more of the "ugly stepchildren" of vintage Hot Wheels.
HI Scott, your resto looks killer. That beater looks familiar![]()
Wasn't there another truck that looks just like that one, also in green, but has yellow plastic hose reels, etc? Maybe that's the BW version. I'm far from knowledgeable about the trucks.
I saw the Oshkosh, by gosh (sorry, couldn't help myself). I'll comment about it in that thread. =)
