    Default Fishin' Magician

My son Nic had a hard time using an open face reel so after many unsucessful casts he wanted to call it quits. I told him, go get yer sis' pole out of the truck...well as fate would have the "Pink Barbie" as we call hooks up with this beast on 2nd cast. Friend grew up there and stated, "that has to be the biggest I've seen outta here yet"! The "Barbie also outfished everyone else by at least a 2:1 margin!

So lets see some fish pics and stories!

Nothing wrong with a pink fishing rod. Whatever gets the job done.
Did you take it to get it mounted or did you eat it?
    Congrats to you Nic!

I remember years ago when I was about your boys age, my dad took me fishing once when we were on vacation in Florida. We were fishing with my Grandad who caught a LargeMouth bass off of a bridge. It was twice the size of fish shown & the mouth was gigantic. I was instructed to go to the edge of the water & grab the fish, I remember it took alot of persuading because I was told to stick my hand right in it mouth and grab it, well as I said being a city boy it took much coaxing but I soon did it had the fish & then they told me that they had no teeth.............I'll never forget that day.............

That's a beauty. Bass fishin has been awful here in western Lk Erie basin this year. The pickerel..er WALLEYE..were hitting pretty hard a couple weeks ago in the Lake.
Lk St. Clair, small lake between Lk Erie and Lk Huron, is usually THE place for bass, but this year just lots of sea weed and algae on the lines and lures.

What a catch! Congrats to Nic, that's a fish he'll remember for a long time!

    You asked for pics....

My daughter's 2nd fish (first was a less photogenic bullhead), caught last summer:

She has that "This is fun, but I still aint touching it" look. Must have caught a dozen each of bullhead and bluegill out of our farm pond that day. Great way for a kid to get hooked on the sport.

My best catch last year, one week later at the same pond:

Was alone, so I snapped a quick pic on the ground, and released her back into the water.

Sadly, there was so much flooding I have not had many opportunities to fish there this summer.

Got a great fish story for you, but it will have to wait until later.

Catch and release as it is on a private pond. Only the old timers eat the Bass around here, but the fish of choice is Perch and Walleye!

    Let's see some more fish!
