Nice collection!
In 1963 I was 15, I went to a Honda dealer (Norm Reeves) with my cousin they had a Santa riding a Honda 50cc around in a circle and a contest going on to win the Honda. Guess how many miles Santa puts on his bike in a month and win it. (They had the odometer lens painted over).
When nobody was looking I stepped over the barrier, and paced off the distance across the circle, it was 7 paces, I then figured out the circumference of a 21 ft circle, I timed how long it took to make a lap, It made 7 1/2 revolutions in a minute, x how many miles that would equal in one hour, x how many hours they are open a month, and I came up with 1997 miles, so I submitted my guess, The day before Christmas they announced the number on the odometer, it was 1,995 I won!!!! I rode it for awhile and traded it for a POS 1957 Pontiac.

Awesome Z's hotwheelcrazz! I have an affinity for the honda 50 motor myself. Without a doubt the toughest little thumper ever designed! I got into 50's after purchasing a crf50 for stunting purposes. I soon found myself fascinated with the old Z's, so I decided to build a custom Z50 stunt bike. I resto modded this '76 from the ground up, took everything down to the bare metal and did all the work myself. Motor has a 88cc top end and 20mm carb. Runs quiet and smooth still, but can pull wheelies with ease in all 3 gears!
Here's a pic of me having some fun on my heavily modded crf 50. I've put this bike through hell and back and it still begs for more...Go Honda!

I had a Blue trail 50 when i was a little tike,last week lol.
Mr Haney,
man, thats an awesome story, and it seems that you try to take all the guesses out of life, with logical theory. Excellent job...congrats to you, and I love the pic of back in the day. Very sweet, thank you for sharing that, I appreciate it very much.
Trizzbizzle, that looks like one fun ride...I bet it does great with that 88cc in there! Pulling wheelies in all 3 gears, sounds like a blast. I have a 77 soft tail z-50 as well. It is titled for road use, but don't ride it on the road. I keep it at my shop and ride it down to the pond to do fishing at lunch time. Just like you said, the 50s motors are just understructable....change oil in them and they run forever. I run the 71 just about every day. I use it to get my mail about 1 mile away. Man, I really like how you tricked your bike out, looks like great fun!
Man, its fun stuff in life. A person can have a lot of fun...these bikes aren't too expensive. You can buy one for around 500 and up on craigslist. If you want to restore, the sky is the limit. Really quite a fun hobby, but got too many as it is...so really its just upkeep from here on out.
