Good call. I've thought about this before, not so much about the GT40 because it's so linked to Lesney as a truly classic Matchbox. But, I've often thought Mattel dropped the ball where the XKE is concerned. Certainly it had to have been discussed within Mattel design back then, but we've never even seen a drawing of a proposal. Meanwhile, it was cast by Matchbox, Topper, Marx, Playart, Husky, Corgi, Yatming, Polistil, and on and on. -p
